Spurs beat the Thunder last night in what was a great NBA Cup game.
I have no problem at all with this loss, but the NBA has got to do something about teams who are up three from being able to constantly intentional foul their opponents to prevent a game tying three point attempt.
It's a smart strategy, so I completely understand why teams do it, but sometimes you have to value entertainment and doing what's best for your sport ahead of analytics/strategy.
Fans want to see players attempt buzzer beater attempts. Watching teams exchange free throws the last minute of a game (10-15 minutes real time) is boring as hell and drained all the excitement from what was a highly entertaining game. Last night's game deserved a better finish than watching the two teams trade free throws.
MLB fixed extreme shifts that were a detriment to their sport. It's time for the NBA to follow suit and fix their analytics-driven issues.
