Full time, yea, although I could see it on clear running/neutral downs situationally. But to me the appeal is mostly that he's elite against the run and I think projects as an interior pass rusher in clear passing situations.

To me he seems like a great second round pick, but this draft may not allow that to happen because of talent distribution.

I don't want to give up a pick from next year. We're already down a couple mid rounders. But I would certainly take 6, 39 straight up for 12 and 20. If they threw in 152 also? Even better.

Ideally, give me Bailey/Bain at 6 and one of the 3 LBers at 39. Or, if for some strange reason Styles is still there? Give me Styles at 6 and Lawrence at 39.

I'm not trading up for Downs. Love the player but just give me Thieneman and save the draft capital for the rest of the defense.

Just listened to a Machota interview and he said he really believes one of the two picks will be Faulk. And likely the other a corner.

Said the way this team thinks, he wouldn't be surprised if they think they're done at safety. And he may well be right on that. They just signed Thompson, and Hooker is a Jerry pet. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Faulk and Hood

That's as bad as it could get
Yes. I get that Hood is a swell kid and all but please. He is a guy you take at the end of the first and you cross your damn fingers he does what he does well and that is play the boundary. He is not very toolsy, which I believe is a Saint Parker expectation.

Hood is scrappy but I don't think he is overly talented or instinctual. I'm not sure he is really a great fit. I think he will be a decent boundary corner but not someone who will ever really excite you.

ick.

But as awful as it would be to take Hood at 12, I'd rather do that than take Faulk there.
Absolutely. I would rather have Ponds than Hood, and I wouldn't even begin to want Ponds at 12.

I have a feeling Lawrence is going in the first.

Bored and ready for the draft. Decided to watch Parker’s press conference again, after he was hired. He stressed heavily that the ideal defensive player is one who is comfortable in multiple positions and types of defenses (zone, man, blitzing etc)

Everything he talks about sounds like Caleb Downs as a player. Throw in his defensive back coaching history, and you don’t have to squint too hard to see us making it a priority to get him.

I said earlier I was against trading up for him but all the Faulk and whatever CB is left over, rumors kinda has me rethinking that. I think most of us love Downs as a player, but making him fit where we pick is the problem.

Anyway, the draft can’t get here soon enough.

No doubt he sounded like he was describing Downs perfectly. I think Parker would love to have him.

We will likely get the chosen one from the enlightened’s gesture. So look for the toolsy DB, the Temu Downs. That could mean maybe even a reach for a guy like Stukes.
