I'm saying I disagree. I don't think the drop off is that steep. I'd even argue that it's a top 6 and not a top 4. And frankly if we ran a 4-3 I'd say it's even a top 7. Because I think Louis would be the most badass weakside LBer in a 4-3, I just don't know that he fits a 3-4 scheme.
What we need is some team to draft both Louis and Ponds. Might not be NFL-physical, but they’ll be scrappy as fuck

Schrager's latest and final...

Has us taking Delane at 9 and Lawrence at 29.

I'm 100% in on that mock.

The only thing I can really glean from it is that we're likely to go DB/front 7 (probably DL/edge rusher) in some form or fashion, although most of us have assumed that for a while now.

The smaller trade up is also something I've assumed is more likely than going up to 3 or even 6 as well, but aside from that there's so many moving parts and potential trades that it's hard to lock in on anything.

And he does have Faulk going 22, so don't breathe a sigh of relief too soon.

Would be very happy with that but it's difficult to take too much from it when he has us trading up.
Indeed. But that would be a quality first night.

I dunno how connected he is with the Cowboys, but it would align with their desire to get out of Day 1 with two first round players.

My real question is why would the Chiefs, who are destitute at corner, bail out on the one CB that is a lock for the round?

He nailed our first rounders the last two years, so that's something. I think this class is more unpredictable though.

What are the odds a guy could nail three years in a row. And especially when we have two first round picks. I take this more as, the Cowboys really like those players. But the trade is such a tough prediction. Now if Delane makes it to 12 sure, I think we take him, but that would be kind of an obvious one.

Lawrence is interesting because we have really only heard about the buzz with him and the Cowboys late in this process. I think there could be something to that. And frankly he will be available at 20 and we could probably trade down with someone and still get him in the later first round. Although, I think he is a rising player in general.

If I'm not mistaken we lose that trade points wise unless they give us their 4th or a pick next year. It also means we're not adding picks and won't get a LB until at least 92.

Otherwise I don't mind it and like the players a lot.

Also they'd be bailing on Tyson in that situation as well, which I think could be a legit target for them.

My other thought is there's a chance we could stay at 12 and still get a guy like Delane and trade down from 20, add a pick, and still get Lawrence.

In Schrager's mock he has KC taking Bain at 12.

I'd far rather stay at 12 and take Bain, then trade down and add a pick or 2. Plenty of secondary options after a trade down, or even LB.
