Just listened to a Machota interview and he said he really believes one of the two picks will be Faulk. And likely the other a corner.

Said the way this team thinks, he wouldn't be surprised if they think they're done at safety. And he may well be right on that. They just signed Thompson, and Hooker is a Jerry pet. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

I think they are done at safety, unless that safety is a nickle corner as well. Then I think they would do it.

I also think they really like Revel and Bland. So I think IF they take a corner it's going to be one they feel comfortable playing the slot.

That's not to say they wouldn't take a safety later to compete or backup Hooker.

This time of year can be like riding a roller coaster. One second Bain is back on the radar. The next Tyson has popped up at pick 12 as a possibility. And now this bullshit.

But in all seriousness. I just pray Machota is wrong. I would strongly disagree with picking him at 12 or 20. We all talk about how you can see a pick turning out badly from a mile away. That's how I would feel about us taking Faulk in the first round. But if it happens all you can do is hope this pass rushing guru we hired can work some magic.

On the flip side, Youmans just said that he guarantees (half joking half serious) that they won't take Faulk in the first round at all (including after a trade down if they do that).

But maybe Machota knows something we don't. I've never gotten the feeling that he had much insider information. But could be totally wrong.
