The cynic in me thinks the team would be more likely to feed one of their own employees bad info.

Or in other words, I doubt a team media guy is really going to tell the rest of the league what we're actually doing.
 
One thing people need to remember about Taco and Mazi is that they largely failed because of what's between their ears, not their physical talent.

It's easy to look at Faulk and connect him to those two because he's elite against the run and isn't a great edge rusher, but if those guys had Zack Martin or Sean Lee's brain they'd have both been at least borderline Pro Bowlers.

So drawing that conclusion based on the style of player Faulk is right now is lazy in my opinion.

If you want to tell me you don't think a guy who projects as a 3-4 DE/OLB hybrid isn't worth the risk because of average production that's more understandable, but I think a lot of the angst is because of the memories of those two busts.

Probably why Broaddus is always way off the mark with everything he thinks the Cowboys are going to do.

I think if you stand Faulk up as a 3-4 OLBer you will look like a fool on defense.

Full time, yea, although I could see it on clear running/neutral downs situationally. But to me the appeal is mostly that he's elite against the run and I think projects as an interior pass rusher in clear passing situations.

For further insight on who to trust based on their Tyler Booker predictions here are the two guys:

  • Peter Schrager
    (NFL Network):     Schrager is specifically credited with "nailing" the pick in his mock draft, correctly identifying Booker as the Cowboys' target.
  • Todd Archer
    (ESPN):     In a final simulation before the draft, Archer noted that Booker was a high-priority consideration if other top targets like Tetairoa McMillan were unavailable.
 
Here's one for the Faulk haters... apparently there's some buzz the last day or two that Miami could even take him at 11? Wat?
