No one is getting fired in the USA. We have this cool thing called FMLA.
That is not effective if you are a job jumper. You have to have a year's service before it can apply to you.

Today, my wife was behind someone in the grocery store checkout that demanded that her cashier leave her work station and go to the bathroom and wash her hands before handling her order today. The cashier stated they had hand sanitizer and it got to the point that that a manager was called and thankfully the manager held firm so finally the customer went to the self checkout.

The cashier was Asian, but I am positive that had nothing at all to do with it.

Then don't be a job jumper.

I wanna know how many otherwise healthy people have died from this.

Then I wanna know how many people who were on their way out before they came down with it have died from it.

It hasn't affected young people much. The older you are, the more lethal it is (esp 70+).

That is easier said than done for a lot of people, especially those in the service industry. It is very rare for someone to hang a year in those.

FMLA is a nice thing to have, but it is not job protected and that year requirement makes it hard for a transient workforce to qualify for.

I am not all about having sympathy, but it is just reality.

Small businesses and self-employed affected, too. If a bakery owner contracts coronavirus, shop has to close for two weeks. Plumber fixing my house, I’m not waiting two weeks for hot water and I’m hiring someone else. Tax season now and they’re not taking two weeks off. Many instances where someone won’t self-quarantine because they can’t afford it.
I anticipate a lot of case stories like this over the next few weeks.

Maid at hotel can't take off...keeps working, infects 100 guests.

That is how this stuff works.

Yeah having my own law firm it's really hard to just shut it down for a couple weeks. Luckily judges would all understand and kick my stuff until it passes. I just worry about the one year old.

I’ll start freaking out when all of the dead start waking up to eat the living.
