goin back to this, the JETS made it absolutely clear, they will entertain talks, BUT you were going to have to have an insane idea to get their attention, NO ONE LISTENED.

I would give a first, a 4th and a 6th.

This is very reasonable for us. From the Jets' perspective it really sucks.

Too bad for them

I would just about never trade multiple 1st rounders for a single player

Neither would I. But here you are, saying you'd offer both of them up along with a 4th.

The only way I would consider it is if it was for a game changer. And Jamal Adams is not that. A very good safety? Sure. And a lot better than we have had at the position for quite some time. But he's not what I'd call a game changer. He has 2 career INTs. 4 career fumble recoveries. It's not like he is getting a lot of turnovers. His tackle numbers aren't eye popping. I'd say they're quite average for his position. 273 combined in 3 years. About the only stat that stands out is his 12 career sacks from the safety position. Nice, yes. But not something I'm willing to give up 2 first round picks for.

I'm not even all that sure I want to give up one first rounder for him. I wouldn't hate it, but wouldn't love it, either.

EDIT: Speaking only for myself here, but I think Cowboys fans are more willing to give up more for Adams because of the wasteland we've had at the position for so long. Especially lately. The more I think about it, the more I don't like giving up a first rounder for him. If we do, I will be happy we finally have something at the position. But still won't like the cost. At least, that's my thinking anyway.

If they can finish 16-32 with him ....

He'll never be happy, even if you pay him. If the Jets extended him, he'd then demand a trade to a winner.

I wouldn't want to give up even 1 first for him, let alone a 1st plus.

If Cooper was had for a 1st, how much more if anything could Adams be worth?

He's worth less than Cooper, definitely.

Hell, imagine we did do that trade at the deadline last year and traded our 2020 first.

Now we don't have Lamb.

No.Thanks.

Give me Lamb a million times out of a million.

Does adding Adams get the Cowboys over the hump and get them to a SB? Not in my opinion. This team is built for a SB run, and we need a few players (IMO) to really contend. People start giving up first rounders and that’s where my asshole starts feeling cringy and I start to sweat.
Despite Jerry’s constant retardation, the Cowboys have drafted decently in the first round, and have done well in the later rounds.
I just hate to give up the chance of future players who might be game changers for a guy who isn’t a game changer.

A 1st and a 3rd is tops for me.
If he still had a couple years left on his contract I might be ok with that, with what he wants to be paid fuck that let him hit FA and we'll talk

You just valued our draft over a certain and proven first round player. Let that marinade for a moment.

That’s cool. I can’t fault anyone who doesn’t agree. The overall costS are certainly really high.

If he had a better record of int's I could be sold, but he doesn't

I’ve heard that said a few times. Do you know if he’s dropping them and has bad hands or if the opportunities just haven’t been there?

No I don't, if there are numbers showing he could blow up like Fitzpatrick moving to the Steelers then of course I'd change my mind. But how can anyone predict that?
