I just don't know how you can trade that much up for a QB like Ward. Nothing against Ward but that's a boat load of picks for a guy who might be the fourth best QB in last years draft.

Because it's the Jets?I just don't know how you can trade that much up for a QB like Ward.
Oh teams do it. Don't get me wrong. The real problem is a lot of times that first next year, ends up being a really high first round pick. Because most rookie QBs don't have great success and your team is likely already pretty shitty. So you're giving up what could very easily be a top 5 pick in next years draft. And then you have this rookie QB that you can't put pieces around because you don't have the draft capital. Just the reality of these moves.Because it's the Jets?
I was mostly being funny. I doubt this is even a real thing, for the reasons you mentioned.Oh teams do it. Don't get me wrong. Yeah I'm sure there is no validity to it but we have seen so many teams make this mistake in the past so I wouldn't write anything off for a team trading up to that top pick.I was mostly being funny. I doubt this is even a real thing, for the reasons you mentioned.
But that said... it is the Jets.
If I was the Titans, I would jump on that so f'n fast it would make their heads spin.
Pretty much. Hell if I held the top pick in the draft, I'd always take the kings ransom unless there was some can't miss QB prospect. If I was the Titans, I would jump on that so f'n fast it would make their heads spin.
I think it could happen if other guys test really well (Will Johnson, Jalon Walker and Mike Green in particular) but I think the 49ers at 11 would be too smart to let him drop any further.I'm sure this won't happen, I'm mostly just dreaming and making conversation here.
But Brugler was saying on the Fan that Graham could fall a little if he doesn't test great. And he's right in that this is the time of year when dumb front offices start overthinking things and put too much weight on the Underwear Olympics.
Any chance? My guess is this phenomenon could happen, but he'd still only fall to ten or so. Thoughts?
Walter Nolen is supposed to test like a badass but we will see. I could see a team overthinking a guy like that if he tests really well.I think it could happen if other guys test really well (Will Johnson, Jalon Walker and Mike Green in particular) but I think the 49ers at 11 would be too smart to let him drop any further.
It's funny though, like what testing are people even worried about with a DT?
I wouldn't give a shit unless he puts up like historically bad DT numbers across the board.

Yeah, the 49ers are a smart drafting organization. Although they did once upon a time give up a shit load of picks to draft Trey Lance, so everyone makes mistakes. With Debo aging, McCaffery aging and Trent Williams being 36 years old, the 49ers have a lot of needs too on the offensive side of the ball. Wouldn't shock me if their head coach pushes for talent on that side.
Now I'm sorry I asked the question.
I won't cry if he is our starting RB next year. Really damn good player. My #3 RB in this draft. And last year he would have been my RB1.
If that’s what the Jets offered up to open the discussion (which I’d doubt, given the source who reported it), then they are willing to give up more.If I was the Titans, I would jump on that so f'n fast it would make their heads spin.
Kickers? Probably with insolently high numbers. And it is especially amusing to see the token whiteys and what positions they play.
