There is a 0% chance he falls past the Raiders.Well in a light draft you really want to trade for future picks. If Sanders’ kid falls to 12… I smell a trade down for a future 1st.
I think the Titans are going to try to snooker them into jumping to the #1 overall pick. As poorly as the Giants are run, and as desperate as they are for a QB, the Titans would be smart to try and suck them in, given the piss poor QB class.Would love to see the Browns sucker the Giants to move up one spot (a la Trubisky) and then take the player they wanted all along: Hunter.
That would leave them with Levis or a veteran bridge quarterback. Can't see them trading down if Ward wows them at the combine or personal workout.I think the Titans are going to try to snooker them into jumping to the #1 overall pick. I totally agree, but we’ve seen teams do this before. They convince themselves that their young bust of a QB just needs more time to develop, so they opt to stockpile picks and build around him rather than replace him outright. That would leave them with Levis or a veteran bridge quarterback. Or we can pick up a real sleeper like RJ Harvey in the 4th… oh wait.Jeremiah's top 50 is out, here are a few notables in my opinion:
1. Abdul Carter
3. Ashton Jeanty
5. Tyler Warren
6. Jalon Walker
9. Jahdae Barron
12. Will Johnson
15. Tetaiora McMillan
16. Mykel Williams
18. Kenneth Grant
20. James Pearce
22. Derrick Harmon
23. Mike Green
26. Walter Nolen
28. Donovan Ezeiruaku
29. Omarion Hampton
32. Luther Burden
33. Malaki Starks
34. Quinshon Judkins
36. Treyveon Henderson
40. Jack Sawyer
42. TJ Sanders
50. Alfred Collins
Unless we do something notable in FA (lol) I think we sort of have to take an offensive playmaker in the first given how this class stacks. To me that means Jeanty, McMillan or Warren, unless there is a clear BPA available on the defensive side. I think this is a pretty decent OL class and wouldn't hate them taking one at 12 but I'd go elsewhere considering the current roster and the fact that these guys likely won't do dick in FA.
16 DL/edges in the top 50 with a lot of depth in the 20-50 range would have me looking front 7 in the 2nd, with an eye on a BPA situation at OL (someone like Donovan Jackson or Mbow).
So Emmitt’s saying Jeanty’d be a diamond among trash
All these exciting pieces? Our last three first round picks have been an OT, NT and Guard/OT. Not exactly what I'd call flashy positions. But I agree about the commitment to the run. It was probably the biggest reason for a coaching change. I just don't think McCarthy has ever had that mentality. So Emmitt’s saying Jeanty’d be a diamond among trash
Yeah, hell just give Jeanty the opportunities Dowdle had last year the second half of the season and we are in great shape. Anyway, it's all up to the coaches. New staff and head coach who has a history of being not only committed to the run but maybe a little over committed. With an OC who is a run game guy, I think the logical answer is that we will be committed to the run next year and probably need two RBs just to handle the punishment.I don't even know what Emmitt is getting at in terms of getting "beaten up". He was complaining about not being committed enough to the run, which has nothing to do with getting a RB beat up.
We have a top 3-5 WR in the league and likely 2 Pro Bowlers on the OL, Jeanty would be just fine.
I’ll never forget the looks on the announce team’s faces when Emmitt said that.Emmitt was debacling that one until the end.
But he still didn't make sense.
