God damn right. I posted this in the game day thread but it should go here too.

For those worried that Graham is another Mazi..

He didn't have a TFL or sack in the box score but from what I can tell that's about 2-3 QB hits, another pressure that looks like it led to a INT (or at least it should have), absorbing a few combos against Troy Fautanu in the run game, and one very interesting play where he lined up on the edge and actually showed enough burst to get Fautanu to open up his hips.

And that was against the Washington OL that won the Morris trophy, there's a reason he's a consensus top 10 prospect.

Assuming Dak misses about 3-4 games I think we'll be pretty solidly in the 6-10 range. There's a bunch of bad teams so I don't think we'll be bad enough to get into the top 3-4, but with Dak out and the team ready to quit I doubt we end up better than 6-11, 7-10 at the absolute best.

That should have us towards the back end of the top 10 at least.

Yeah, you can't hold his uniform against him. Mazi being a turd has no bearing on anyone else.

Not to mention there have been several studs to come out of Michigan on the DL in the same time.

Hutchinson might've won DPoY this year, Rashan Gary is one of the better edge rushers in the league, and Kwity Paye has been a good starter for the Colts.

We just happened to get the unserious runts of the litter in Charlton and Mazi, which I put more on the scouts/FO than anything for not figuring out that these guys were immature dickheads.

So usually it's too early to do this stuff. We have playoffs and no idea who will be available in the 20s of the draft. But all I have left this year is the high draft pick. The good news is we are headed straight for a top 10 pick. We just have to hope a couple of these QBs sneak into the top 5 of the draft. So pick your top 5 guys? We will probably have a shot at one of them.

I think for me it's:

Mason Graham
Abdul Carter
Travis Hunter
Jeanty
Mykel Williams

Although if those top 3 guys are all done I probably prefer to trade down. See if you can't get a draft pick haul to rebuild a lot of the team. If you only build through the draft you need as many picks as you can get.

That's about what I have although I'd have Scourton over Williams at the moment, and probably over Jeanty as well, although that's subject to change.

For me Graham, Carter and Hunter are the locked in top 3, I'm just not totally certain on the order yet.

The wild card for me is Malaki Starks, I think he's one of the best safeties to come out in years and probably a top 6-8 guy in this class, but I'm skittish about the position value.

Yeah, I just can't take a safety that high. The shittiness of Wilson this year makes me consider it but ultimately I can't go down that hole again. The only way you can take a safety that high in my opinion is if you're looking at Ed Reed type range on the back end. I have a hard time with Georgia defenders in general too. It took a lot for me to put Mykel Williams up there but I haven't watched enough. I'm sure once I do he will drop and I'll have other guys I like more on the D-line.

And frankly if we are moving to a 3-4 suddenly a guy like James Pearce Jr. might be higher on my list. I just don't think he makes much sense as a 4-3 DE, especially with Micah being the other end.

This is what happens when you absolutely refuse to dabble in the free agency above the bargain bin. You dont have to get the top players but you do need to supplement your team. If you werent such a detriment to negotiation it wouldnt even cost a lot either.

I still think DL was a bigger issue, because you need more bodies there.

But RB was still a huge need. And it would have been easy to fix with just one good player. Rico would be okay as a backup.

Of course, Jerry thought that's what he was doing... with Zeke. :doh
