Week 9 Game Day Chatter | Chiefs @ Cowboys | 11-5-2017

This is really good analysis of Zeke's vision/anticipation...

Stuff like that is what was missing earlier in the year, for whatever reason.

They are playing a lot more man coverage now than earlier in the year. That's part of that aggression that you speak of.

I think playing man allows them to play faster and react more naturally. When they play zone-heavy schemes, it seems like they are slow to make their reads and as a result their reactions are too late as well.

I'm guessing that playing more man stems from finally getting a pass rush we can rely on.

I go back and forth on Prescott. Obviously it was a god send that as one QB was winding down his career we have seemingly found another who can keep winning.

But yeah, I do feel like eventually we are gonna need him to fling it around more often -- maybe in the 6 games that Elliott misses -- and I wonder if he'll be able to. You know Romo could win games that way, but also win games managing an effective running attack. I haven't seen Dak have to be the main focal point. I don't know if he's capable of throwing for 300 yards and 3 TDs every week. Yes, his TD to INT ratio is great, and he's great at limiting mistakes, but the running game gets him into the redzone and then he throws fades or slants to Beasley or Bryant.

When Prescott has to do the heavy lifting, will he be able to?

Tom Brady was very similar early in his career. Can Prescott turn that corner?

Late to the party but just saw the Deion clip and I hate that guy.

Some bitched during the game that this was a high throw. But that was clearly intentional. You can see the LBer underneath. Dak wanted to make sure that he cleared the LBer and hit it in front of the safety. It's actually an excellent throw to drop it in between the two zones.

He was making a joke. Deion is being a touch sensitive here.

Yeah any time anyone mentions a corner who can't tackle Deion's name comes to mind. It isn't like Romo just came up with out of the blue. Deion was the poster boy for corners who didn't want to tackle.

And I didn't even think Sanders was that bad at tackling while in Dallas. He usually just dove at the guys legs and tripped him up but it usually got the job done. But his reputation is well known.

Mosher throwing shade at SBK. :lol

I'm so glad that turd isn't here anymore.

Also after reading those posts, I'm starting to wonder if Schmitty hasn't still been reading SBK's opinion when it comes to Dak...Those two used to always have the same opinion on stuff.

I think Russell is a little better passer of the ball, but that's a pretty good comparison.

Not so sure about that. Dak's QBR the last two seasons are higher than Russel Wilson has ever had in his career.

I think people look at Dak as limited because he isn't throwing for 300 + yards every game. But that's by design (A smart design that has nothing to do with Dak). If we are throwing the ball 40+ times in a game something has gone horribly wrong.

That would be insane considering Irving missed 4 games, and plays DT often.

Yesterday was a great game for the most part, great play calling and no HC mistakes.

But....Count me in as someone who doesn’t trust Garrett in a big 1 and done type game. And if you have to add in a 1 and done after a bye week......oh hell no.

Yes wasn't much to worry about because of the big lead. Now if the games are close to the end that's when you have to worry.

That's another conversation for another day.

This particular poster has been shit talking for weeks and was spouting off yesterday about how we won despite the coaching yesterday to back up his agenda.

He picked the wrong game because the coaches were great yesterday other than that few minute blip.

I will continue to talk shit as well as long as Garrett is head coach. Oh so one game is enough to forgive all his stupidity I guess right? Next week it will back to the same thing. I don't know about you but I'm kind of tired of the momentum roller coaster that comes with Garrett as HC. I'm glad you are ready to proclaim him as king because of one game that he did a decent job and didn't cost them a win. But we are talking about an 11 point game here that should have been a lot larger if not for the ONE coaching fuck up.

Yes this fuck up didn't cost them, but if this game were closer it possibly could have. Lets revisit this again when the game is tied or really close and comes down to a decision at the end AGAIN. I would love to see a Super Bowl in my lifetime as I'm not getting any younger, but this team will be hard pressed to win anything until Garrett stops being stubborn and learns more about the game and clock management, not to mention how to ride the momentum waves of a game. Right now he sucks at that, I just hope he figures it out before these players careers are wasted!

That has always been and still remains my biggest fear.

Hell, coaching blunders were made in both playoff losses to Green Bay in the last 3 seasons so I see no reason to believe it wouldn't happen again if we get into the postseason this year.

This. And you just know it will happen again. Here is to hoping one day he finally gets it.

I read him from time to time. He disagrees with me on Garrett too.

You are operating under the mistaken assumption that he and I had any connection. We happened to agree on most stuff and still do.

And frankly I wish he would come back and post here. Too many of the same voices here all the time.

You are unsurprisingly missing, or deliberately blurring, the point.

You had nothing to complain about yesterday yet you still tried to make it sound like the staff sucked yesterday and the players won in spite of them.

That was wrong. It has nothing to do with what will happen next week, or your misplaced attempts to say I'm "proclaiming him king," which I am, in fact, not doing nor have I ever done.

My criticism of you is that you have demonstrated that you are gonna close your eyes and bash the staff regardless of reality. They did a great job yesterday and you glossed over it all so you could continue with your trash talking.

You even admit to it when you said above

I will continue to talk shit as well as long as Garrett is head coach.

Yeah, you didn't have to tell me, cause I have you figured out.

You aren't interested in being honest. Just pushing your agenda. Until you admit that you were wrong and that the coaches did a good job yesterday, that's all you'll be.

~flush~

I made this point a few times last week during the many Romo vs Dak debates. Typically it takes QBs 3-5 years to reach their full potential. We live in such a instant gratification society. So if a guy doesn't immediately play at an All-Pro level we immediately want to jump ship and start looking elsewhere for a better option.

I think he's doing just fine for a 2nd year QB. He can obviously be better but I believe that will come in time.

Are we actually talking about Prescott as if there is any fucking debate? Get the hell out of here. He's the future.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/qbr

The guy is on pace to throw 3600 yards, 32 TDs, 8 picks, rush for 400 yards and 8 TDs. His career QB rating is 102.4 if you prefer that to QBR. Case closed.
