And, so it begins.
And, so it begins.
It definitely should not be relied upon for this kind of stuff.
This is more of a human error than AI. It should be a lead, not evidence. Common sense should have told them to doubt this.
Humans program the AI.This is more of a human error than AI.
I am scared of AI enough as it is, but with China trying to slow our progress in any way should terrify everyone in this country. They know the race is on, and are trying everything they can to slow our development down. The first one to that "finish line" will most likely control how the new AI dominated world dynamic will look. And we damn sure don't want China getting there first. So, develop it to stay in the race, use it for military applications and do not release it to the public. That's my stance.
Exactly my point. China is treating it as some sort of arms race. And that should send up red flags for everyone. The fact that AI is being viewed as some sort of an arms race is scary as well. It's like this generations atomic bomb. AI out of control could be extremely dangerous.
So, develop it to stay in the race, use it for military applications and do not release it to the public
How would you propose we regulate it? As you well know I am no fan of the government either, but with AI there needs to be some very serious oversight as to what happens with it. We can't just let any AI loose all willy nilly. There would be way too much political weaponization of it. How do we prevent that from happening? You had me until there. Hard disagree.
I would no sooner agree to the government having exclusive rights to AI as I would the government having exclusive rights to guns.
Fuck. That.

I don't know what the answer is either, but what I do know is the general public shouldn't be able to use it/develop it without some sort of regulation/oversight. AI needs to be treated very seriously. It could be a severe danger to us if not handled properly. And that's not being an alarmist. AI is going to be a very powerful influence on what is the next step in technological advancement and it has the potential to do great harm if not treated carefully.I don't know but I don't think giving politicians exclusive access prevents political weaponization but rather amplifies it.
