Flattening the odds makes sense (and makes it easier to fix when needed) but punishing the 3 worst teams seems like an unnecessary additional step.

How else would you fix the tanking?

I dont really care either way. Just wondering how they could do it but if it entails a penalty to the Astros Im all for it.

Yeah, seems like some teams that are actually terrible and not trying to lose can be stuck that way for years now.

I'm no expert, but this seems like a bad idea.
I understand what they are trying to do, because tanking in the NBA potentially represents a whole lot of lost, non competitive games.

But at the end of the day, even if teams tried their very best to the last, there would still be a worst team that would most deserve the first pick.

Flattening the odds to be almost even, what is the incentive to tank if you don't have any better of a chance at a top pick?

That's what they did, they just took the extra step of penalizing the bottom 3 on top of that.

No penalty to the Astros? They basically invented the trend in the 2010s.

Disappointed. Do better NBA.
