2026 Season | Week 5 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Bucs @ Cowboys | 10/08/2026

I still can’t believe we lost to another young backup. There’s Colt McCoy, Matt Flynn, Josh Dobbs and a Bears QB in there somewhere and more.

An undrafted rookie QB in his second start on a winless team at home with momma shoveling ‘slaw into her face on HD primetime. This is a new bar

Josh McCown. Thats the Bears QB

45 fn points the Bears put up

Not being 4-1 after this schedule against objectively terrible (save Baltimore) teams with these deficiencies is pretty telling. The rest of the season just looks bleak. Any night where our offense is off by just a little (and last night was more than a little), we’re cooked.

I agree in that there's legitimate talent here, even on defense.

The problem is they're being led by coach who has no idea what to do.

I think we can win SOME of the time in spite of Schotty, but we cannot win in spite of Parker.

The longer we hold on to him, the more we're decreasing our odds of making something out of this season.
That’s my point. If Jerry opened his wallet for McCarthy like he has for Schotty, there’s no telling what he would have done. The fact Jerry went with broken Zeke over Henry quickly comes to mind.

This is exactly the reasoning.

The math works but it's still fucking stupid.

It's better to take your chances in overtime than to put all your eggs in a two point conversion basket.

You give yourself way more chances by playing it straight.

I think an argument could be made that by doing it this way, you’re not having to rely on your defense to get a stop in overtime.

Ok fine, but then why do you have to go for 2 THERE?

If you're going to do that, there's no reason whatsoever that you can't do it after the next TD.

By doing it there and failing, you've essentially put more pressure on your team.

You're right. I don't think many of the personnel acquisitions and shift from only building through the draft would have happened. In Jerry's mind, Fat Mike won a Super Bowl and should have been able to do more with less. Schotty needs help being a first time HC.

And you can't pay big time money for a HC AND spend money on all of these high priced players, now can you? So we have a "discount" coaching staff and a roster with more talent and higher pay.

OR Jerry just wants to be right about Schotty so he’s giving him a stacked roster.

And let me add…if the Dallas media weren’t such freeloading Jerry cocklickers, they’d be on that old wrinkly ass motherfucker like white on rice, hounding and beating into his head what a POS football guy he is. Accelerate the aging process, bring on the massive heart attack, bring on that extra 10-15 drinks a week that might result in a stroke or a fatal fall off the Jerry-Yacht.
:unsure

I’ve been advocating for the media to do their fucking jobs for many years.

Yep, I get that everyone is going to target the HC usually when things go wrong, and in this case rightfully so.

BUT, I think the real story is how bad Parker has been. It's been an abject disaster.
And maybe he’s a smart guy.

But he doesn’t understand that his players aren’t getting what he’s asking them to do.

And this isn’t a rebuild. You can’t throw away a season for this group of veterans to learn the system so that in a year or two it’s second nature. They need to stop the bleeding.

Yes. That has been my point all along. I have no problem going for 2 for the win, but not on that TD. It's retarded and if you don't get it you are FORCED to go for 2 on the next one just to fucking tie.

WTF is this?!

Why the fuck are we so far off the ball???

It's 3rd and 21 and we're essentially in a prevent cover 4..... WHY?!!!!

What the fuck is Christian Parker thinking here?!

Not only is that a terrible concept there (proving he learned nothing from the end of the Ravens game), but it also shows just how clueless he is.

This isn't 4th and 21 at the end of the game where you're hoping to get the final stop to seal it -- we're in the middle of the fucking game!

By playing that deep, you're automatically giving them the field goal when the intent there should be to stop them completely. And yet Parker is ok with automatically giving them 3 points!

He's so short-sighted that the only thing he's thinking of there is stopping them from converting the 21....he's not even thinking about the free 12-15 yards he's giving up on front of him.

What's worse is that it doesn't even stop them from converting because cover 4 there was a terrible idea. All you have to do in that shell is just wait for one of your guys to get into that space behind that first line and it's a free catch -- something Daniels was able to do there because there was no pass rush whatsoever.

This coaching staff is just absolute dogshit and there's nothing these players are gonna be able to do to overcome them.

And to make matters worse,

They don’t appear to have any idea how to play zone.

Every other team runs the same 65-70% zone, yet their DBs are glued to our WRs hips.

Our guys play zone and they are 5 yards away from everyone letting them make uncontested catch after uncontested catch.

Not to nitpick, but I'd have a major problem going for two for the win, too. We have the far better QB, we have the mo, we're at home. The longer the game goes, the more likely the better team wins.

But that's just a small point. The big picture is that the entire team failed in every area, offense and defense.

Yeah, I don't see how this is even debatable.

We've got 5 games of hard evidence that this defense is completely lost in zone and doesn't know what they're supposed to be doing.
