2026 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread...

Guys on the Ticket say Bland should be benched, Speed (who had a great game vs Tampa) should be starting opposite Porter, and Durant should be in the slot.

That works for me too.

Not sure I'm ready to put faith in Speed but it can't be worse.

who is speed

Nvm. I thought it was somebody's nickname.

Parker is young enough to recover his career but it will definitely set him back.

Well, it is for the best then since everyone was scared we would lose him to be somebody’s head coach and all.

Wow. I wonder if this is Shotty panicking or Jerry dictating it.

What if Parker is asking for it? I mean he is the one with the prior relationship right?

In hindsight all the position coach hires who had literally zero NFL coaching experience should've been a red flag. It was kind of underwhelming at the time but we all just assumed the best with Parker.

Offensively they barely hired any guys with college only experience, I believe it was only the WR coach, and there were a number of guys with significant NFL experience in Dorsey (former OC and one time HC candidate), Adams and Wells (numerous OC interviews).

Defensively you have three guys with literally no NFL experience and Ansley/Dixon were really the only ones with significant NFL experience.

The Pettine thing is fascinating because they supposedly kicked around the idea of hiring him in the offseason but Pettine wasn't especially interested. Something obviously changed, either in terms of money or responsibility/power (i.e. they're more desperate now and made more concessions once they saw this shit show in action). Theoretically Pettine could've just decided he wanted back in, but given the timing it'd be just a bit too coincidental for that to be the case.

Pettine gave him his first job in the NFL, I'm fairly certain Parker is on board with it.

I mean it could be as easy as Parker says he needs someone to help run the front 7 because his current guys aren't capable.

It could be, for sure.
