Uh oh
OK...
What we need are leaders on the field who can get in the faces of their teammates and demand accountability.

Wow... I thought he'd just be a sounding board type, but maybe not.
As Archer said, this is what they did to Eberflus when things didn't go well.
I just wonder how much difference this can actually make at this point of the year.Nah, they didn't bring him in just to consult.
He's definitely going to play a huge part in both the gameplans and the gameday adjustments.
You don't bring a guy like that in after only 5 weeks and then send the current DC up to the booth just to play a minimal role.
He had 7.5 sacks last year, 7.5 the year before. 9 before that.Anyone watching Gary in GB should have known he was washed or something. Terrible fucking trade.

Getting 6 sacks and decent run defense out of him seemed reasonable.

Parker is young enough to recover his career but it will definitely set him back.

I'm mostly surprised at this for Parker. If the defense looks substantially better after this, it's going to be really bad for Parker and his career. Makes me think things are even worse behind the scenes than I thought.
None after week 7 of last year
I think Pettine and him are effectively going to be co-DC's, but they'll never admit anything like that of course.
Well, Pettine has a history with him right? So if the guy truly does have anything left in the tank, then we're gonna find out here soon.I expected him to at least be a good run defender and be able to contain the edge. But he just looks slow. I don't know if he lost a step or is out of shape. But when average athletes are outrunning him with ease it's a problem.
Yeah, they are never going to say anything like that out loud.
Wow, I'm listening to Werder's interview on the Ticket this morning, and Ed says someone who worked with Pettine extensively as a HC told him, paraphrasing a bit but very close, "Wow, they finally hired a real coach. Pettine is legit. Dallas will walk away with that division now."
I did not see that coming.
Also that as much as Dallas tries to downplay this as Pettine being just a consultant, the sense he got from people who worked with Pettine was that the more influence he has, the better the defense will be.
