I think there's a real chance Downs or Bain could be there also and I'd definitely draft either one.

I love the massive DT. I always have. Even back to the Shaun Rogers in the 2001 draft. So there is part of me that likes Banks.

But the feet and the injuries, I'll pass. And even at that I think he is a second round player. Throw in the injuries and the soonest I'd consider him would be with pick 92. And even at that I'd probably prefer a more sure thing. We need a solid double with that pick. We don't need some boom or bust that could be off the roster in a year or two.

I would as well. But don't get Ravi started on Downs and how every other safety in the draft is basically just as good.

Downs to me is a real difference maker. Bain is a real difference maker. These are guys you find roles for no matter what and they play at such a high level that they raise the play of guys around them. Bain is a certified badass. I'll live with TRex arms. In some weird way they almost give him better leverage.

He played like 5 games late in the season on a sinking or sunken ship coming off major injury for his first NFL action. I'm not that quick to judge.

Yeah I take last year with a grain of salt. I have no idea what he was being asked to do either.

But it also means I have to sort of view him like I would a rookie. Because we really don't know anything about the guy other than what he did in college. I think he at least looked healthy by the end of last year.

I agree with that. Just not concluding he was the worst CB in the NFL last year.

Maybe I tuned out at the end of the year but worst corner in the NFL feels really strong. He didn't look to me like that at all. I saw good, I saw bad but I don't think he even looked like the worst corner on our roster.

Again though, I don't know what he was being asked to do. Maybe he was getting destroyed and I just thought it was someone else's assignment. For the most part though I find PFF to not be particularly accurate.

Also how are they only ranking 114 corners? I'm guessing there is some type of snap cutoff. But Revel missed most of the season. Did he really have more snaps than everyone except 114 corners? Most teams play 3 corners the majority of the time. That gets you to 96 plays all by itself. Something seems off to only rank 114 corners.
 
Just heard on the radio that they think Clowney will head back to Dallas eventually. They said he likes it there, and there is a hand shake deal that if he doesn't get an offer that exceeds expectations, he'd be willing to come back to Dallas. Both sides are taking their time and letting it play out.

Take it with a grain of salt.

And there are a bunch more guys outside of that who I really like. Some are undersized like Kyle Lewis or Harold Perkins. Down to my sleeper which is Karson Sharar from Iowa. Killer instincts, from a defense that produces LBers and oh hey he ran an excellent 4.56 forty and jumped a 40 inch vertical. I say sleeper but he is Kipers 10th rated LBer. Not sure if that quantifies as a sleeper.

Rodriguez is a playmaker, though he is also a bit undersized like Perkins and Lewis.

Don't know Sharar, so maybe this class is even deeper than I suspected.

He isn't that small. Once you are between 230 and 240 I consider that normal LBer size. CJ Allen is actually smaller by like a pound. Both 6'1".

Now if you're 220-223 like Lewis and Perkins that's small. Tweener type size but with 315 pound guys up front it might be ok.

No, because pressure stats unlike those associated with other positions tend to be subjective and often flat out stupid.

I'd say he was a rookie edge rusher with 2 sacks, one of which at least came late in a decided game.

And if that was better than all but one rookie, then the NFL had a kind of shitty edge class in 2025.

And I'm surprised to say the least that EZ was rated higher than Booker, who was a drop-in starter at a tough, physical position from day one.

I'm not that quick to judge either but I'm also not quick to get out the anointing oils. Let's not count on a guy we still don't really know about yet.

Luckily now with Durant we hopefully won't have to count on Revel.
