2026 Cowboys Draft Chatter Thread

Funny, was just listening to one of the 105.3 podcasts and Broaddus (small Siberian salt mine) is talking about this like everyone knows Bain has something wrong that people know about.

Also says people tell him they're interested in going to 6 but not 3. They could be afraid all the defensive guys are gone. Thinks Miami could trade out for picks because people know Dallas has to take defense.

Also says he thinks if stuck at 12 we'd take Mesidor.

But if Dallas were comfortable with "the Bain situation", they could just take him.

Thinks even Faulk or Woods could be in play, that real scouts like them more than media scouts. But probable Mesidor.

Also says Bob McGinn is a "terrible human being" because he posted the bad Wonderlic scores of prospects. Damn, toughen up, buttercup.

I think trading up to 6 makes much more sense than 3 because there's no way you can go from 12 to 3 for just 92.

I could see it at 6 and if Reese or Bailey somehow drop there, I think you might see it. I'd also advocate for a small trade up to 9 or 10 if the board is thinning for Downs or Styles.

Mesidor and that group would make sense as a fallback at 12, but if it were me it'd be Thieneman.

Why would we have have them take the Wonderlic and not reveal the scores?

Apparently because it's too mean if they don't do well. Even though it's well known that people who bomb the test usually don't do well in the league.

No wonder Parcells fired this dude.

I asked Grok about this and it said there was no correlation but then it used Vince Young and Morris Claiborne as evidence that it’s not a good predictor. :lol

Also said they’ve moved away from the Wonderlic and are now using the S2, which is a 45 minute cognitive test. It has shown to be a good predictor of success for quarterbacks but not 100% reliable.

Also, Broaddus says his LB order is Hill, Allen, Rodriguez. Says he talked to people at Lubbock and even they don't think he's a first rounder.

He also talks like Terrell would be a candidate at 12 except for the bad 40. Really?

We knew he sucked as a scout. We know he sucks as a sports analyst. We know that he is a dickhead. And now we also know he is a liar.

I wouldn't take Broaddus' word as gospel, we all know he's a bit of a DB whore, was a scout here during our worst drafting era basically in team history and was shown the door ASAP by Parcells.

He's interesting to listen to because I think he has some contacts within the organization but I don't take it too seriously.

I get all the moronic thoughts, but if he is repeating horseshit he believes, does that mean he is a liar?

I'm saying there is not a person in Lubbock that would say that. Unless he found some retarded Longhorn transplant. (my brother lives here)

With all that said, I think the overarching point that 12 is kind of a dead spot for the top defensive players is valid. The organization can't just sit back and passively watch things unfold.

I could easily see scenarios where trading up, either to 6 or 8-10 would be the best move, and obviously if the defensive board is wiped out you'd hope they could move down. Going up to 3 is obviously ridiculous but could we get up to 6 while just sending Cleveland 92?

I bet we could, and obviously if Reese or Bailey drop to 6 you do it, but what if the top 5 is Mendoza/Reese/Bailey/Bain/Downs?

There's no chance Styles/Delane make it to 12 there, so do you move up for Styles? Downs in a different scenario?

Conversely, let's say the top 7 is Mendoza/Reese/Bailey/Bain/Love/Tate/Downs, and there are only 4 picks to go before our pick with both Styles and Delane on the board.

You can be a bit more patient there, but I'd argue that you should be laying the groundwork to move up to like 9 or 10 at a moment's notice.

I think that's Broaddus's order.

I feel like I just heard a draft show with him where he basically said the Cowboys are in love with Rodriguez. But anyhow, he doesn't really know shit. He kind of made it sound like they were down on CJ Allen.

Also listening to him harp about some issue with the charecter on Bain but then never even hinting what the issue is gets in my nerves. Like if you're going to bring it up say what it is or don't bring it up at all. It's like he thinks he is protecting the player by not airing dirty laundry while doing worse by airing dirty laundry and not saying what it is so people can actually judge.
