Another anti-trust lawsuit waiting to happen, same as what's happening to the NCAAIf the NCAA doesn't sort itself out I could see the NFL instituting a rule that if a player signs any sort of NFL contract, and then leaves to return to school, they'll be banned from returning to the NFL.
That'd put an end to it pretty quickly.

That only works if college football has some sort of restrictions on years. The way things are going if you can have a 7 year career in college, who cares if you can't go back to the NFL. You can go make millions a year in college.

I think college is still limited to 5 years, if not, enjoy playing in college for 10 years, maybe one day the NCAA will sort itself out.
It is but the influx of dudes that are getting that extended seems to be growing. Chambliss is what, going on to year 6 right now? The NCAA tried to prevent it, he sued and got an injunction. By the time the case is actually heard? The point will be moot by then.
What if it's not a marginal guy? The precedent applies to all players once set.Maybe, but Goddell is basically a mob boss and can make sure teams have a quiet agreement amongst each other not to resign guys who go back to college.
Who really gives a shit about these marginal PS types anyway?
