How come the catchers who left the Braves over the years never clue in their new team?

On that, because I've wondered this anyway when I watch a game... Is it me or did catchers used to kind of save the big frames for closer pitches and more crucial situations? Now I see guys framing every pitch, even the ones that aren't really close. Seems to me like it loses some of its effectiveness when they do that.
