Im the same way. In 23 I counted the Rangers out of the playoffs in the second half at least a half dozen times.
Well that was a true miracle.

I still can't believe it happened.

I find it hard to believe in the Mariners.

By a similar token I'm finding it hard to believe that Milwaukee is the best team in baseball.

We'll see how it shakes out. But I hope the Rangers win that division because fuck the Astros.

Ace, you're always pessimistic and then your team ends up winning. :lol

I've honestly only been that way the last 2 seasons.

Yes, the Astros eventually bounced back to win the division last year, but at no point in the season did they ever look like a good team and that's why they were swept at home in the first round.

And this year I was actually pretty high on them until the injuries started piling up along with the stretches of poor losses.

This particular Astros team just loses way too many games that they shouldn't. And in a year where the race is tight and they have so many injuries at the plate and at the mound, the margin of error is too slim for that.

That loss to the Blue Jays the other night was just horrendous for this time of the season, but there have been so many just like that all season.

I know the Astros aren't popular around here but you got to admit this is pretty cool.

Zach Cole is a rookie who the Astros called up for the first time last night and he hit a HR in his first major league at bat.

This is the reaction from his teammates on the AA team he spent most of the season on:

Normally that would be great but....

Houston has their fate in their hands next week. Home series with both the Rangers and Seattle.

Yup, that's right.

I think the AL West postseason participants gets decided next week.

Astros get the first game in the series but Yordan Alvarez leaves the game after spraining his ankle.

The amount of injuries they've suffered this season is insane.

Yeah.

I don't think he's pitching full time, but I think he started against the Astros back in early July and went 3 innings and he's made appearances like that ever since.

He's pitching tonight. I see he has about 36 innings logged this season so I guess they're being cautious with him which is probably smart. He's only going 4 or 5 innings per start.

I do wonder if doing that is taxing their bullpen though.
