2024 Paris Olympics Thread

I know it's a long way off now but I think team USA basketball is in trouble in the future.

Next Olympics, there likely will be no Steph, LeBron, or Durant.

God only knows what happens with Embiid, health wise and if he even wants to play again when he's 34.

Who will be core of the next team?

Edwards? Booker? Davis? Tatum? Blech.

The dominant US run might be over.

If 2028 wasn't in the US I think they'd be 50/50 at best to win gold, but being in the US they should still be a pretty decent favorite.

By 2032 Flagg will be a fully developed KG facsimile and ready to lead the team.

Maybe, we'll see.

But the next generation of elite players that are here now are all international (except if you want to include Embiid as American now).

I can't think of a single American (again outside of Embiid) who you'd put in the elite tier with Doncic, Giannis, Jokic, SGA, etc. Maybe Holmgren gets there. Maybe Flagg.

But it's dicey for sure.

Yea that's definitely true although our depth is obviously way superior. Either someone like Edwards or Tatum will have to make a big jump or Flagg will have to turn into a superstar (I think he will, but by 2032).

Nothing to worry about.

We’ve got Bronny.

We'll also have Chet. That'll give us at least two talented bigs to combat Wemby.

And who the frick finds this remotely entertaining?
I don't understand it either but there's definitely an audience out there for it. I've seen quite a few theater shows/plays that look similar to this.

An audience sure, but I'd say that audience is relatively small. I don't think it has wide appeal.

I wasn't going to comment on this but it's bugging me.

It's incredibly racist (and patently retarded) to get mad about and single out black people winning medals for the US, but somehow don't care if someone of British or Irish or Italian or whatever descent wins for the US.

We're a nation of immigrants, morons. None of us are ethnically "American". You can't just pick and choose, especially as outsiders like the Chinese are, who you consider a proper American. We ALL are.

Most of those Chinks are on PEDs anyway, especially the male swimmers.
