Yeah, Weeden sucking out loud was the biggest problem. What do you want, an alibi?
No.... I wasn't talking about Garrett.
I was simply pointing out that the biggest problem with this offense isn't the number of runs being called, it's the success of the passing game, which is currently failing.
My point is more along the lines of, we all got way too caught up with this "WE NEED TO RUN 60% OF THE TIME AND NEVER RELY ON THE PASS AGAIN" mindset.
It's wrong.
We need to get the passing game back on track, pronto. The running game's returns are gonna continue to drop until we do. Teams aren't gonna respect the passing game at all if we can't do better in the air than we have against Washington and Arizona.
Sure, ok. Not really my point with this discussion, but yeah, they can be doing more to coax out a respectable passing game. In fact that's kinda what I was saying.... the passing game is the biggest problem right now, not run vs. pass selection. We need to figure out how to beat a blitz through the air. Or if Weeden is the QB... how to get him the kind of passing attempts that he can actually complete (unfortunately, you don't have a ton of good options there one way or the other).Coaches are responsible for the faith the team places in the backup QB as well as how they gameplan around the backup's weaknesses. If Romo's injuries continue and we ride Weeden to 8-8, the coaches deserve to be unemployed every bit as much as Weeden does.
