They went with another defensive guy instead of Quinn who would have stepped right in with a continuation of the Pete Carroll rah rah style. That should tell you something. He really wanted that one .
Frazier, Staley or Rivera would all be fine, Whitt is whatever, but I kind of prefer that he go to DC with Quinn.
I don't know enough about Joe Whitt to say how he would do. He is a complete unknown. I don't subscribe to the theory that because he was an assistant under DQ that he is the same thing as DQ. However he could be. He could also be worse. He could also be better. Other than some interviews I don't know how the guy would perform as a full time defensive coordinator.Frazier, Staley or Rivera would all be fine, Whitt is whatever, but I kind of prefer that he go to DC with Quinn.

So based on google I found a preseason game against Houston where Quinn had covid. I'm not sure on the game where Quinn was head coach with McCarthy out if Whitt ran the defense that day.Didn't he run the defense when McCarthy had covid a couple years ago that one game? He seemed to do well enough if I recall correctly.
There was no edit. That was just the word test after @Chocolate Lab posted about blocking the user with that sentiment as a joke. thought he would see that and think the same thing.I saw where you edited out that you think the Hoodie thing would be possible since Jerry just done said yesterday that he could totally work with him.
2021 Week 13 at New Orleans (27-17)Didn't he run the defense when McCarthy had covid a couple years ago that one game? He seemed to do well enough if I recall correctly.
I think it's only for head coaches and top executives. So Whitt would have to become a head coach (Another reason to employ a minority coordinator) or GM (If McClay ever leaves)I have no problem with Whitt. He is a young guy and seems like a good coach. Like C Rock, I don't think just because he coached under DQ automatically means he's married with all of his beliefs and tendencies. You see coaches all the time when out on their own, go away from the styles they had been working under.
As an aside, if he does go to DC with DQ, (I don't think he will) would we get draft pick compensation?
Kind of what I suggested earlier.Yeah, I'm usually on the more optimistic side of things and even I don't see next year going well.
What's sad is that going, say, 10-7 and winning a playoff game would be seen as a huge failure. Where with a new coach, most fans would see that as a good sign. Like you say, the bar is almost unrealistic.
I'm the king of talking about how Jerry hates paying coaches to sit at home, but even I'm surprised he didn't make a move this year. How does he not see that this is set up for a disaster...
I am sorry Wade, but your contract with the San Antonio Brahmas of the new UFL means you are off limits. That is too bad."Surprise, I'm available for a one-year job..."
That's the hard thing. Winning 12 games is hard even with the most talented roster in the NFL. I don't entirely blame McCarthy for this teams post season failures. Those were happening long before McCarthy got here. They were happening before Dak got here. This is a Jerry Jones and a Dallas Cowboys culture created by Jerry Jones that I think breeds post season failure. I doubt that we will ever again hire a coach that can tell Jerry to fuck off and break that culture. So yeah, I personally would probably set the bar lower for McCarthy but that's just because Jerry. But maybe they were well coached to be one of those better regular season teams. Who knows if a new coach gets any more out of them in the playoffs, especially Dak.
And I'd still say we only blew it one year out of three, not that I'm excusing the one time.
No shit, Mosher.
