Truth. If he never played for Oklahoma he wouldn't mention his name at all.

Why then are you so concerned for trying to set me straight?
Your angst over people's opinion of Hurts is almost as funny as the Eagles drafting him.
It's also funny that you think I'm trying to set you straight. I don't give a damn if you think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I enjoy laughing at dumb things. Why then are you so concerned for trying to set me straight?
Here’s the deal you have an opinion about the player and I have an opinion about the player. We don’t agree. Where we differ is that I don’t call your opinion dumb or stupid or other derogatory phrases. But you know what that’s not my style and I won’t do that. So far my impressions of Hurts is playing out in this process because he has been picked way ahead of other opinions so your position is in the minority as far as the actual drafting process. Now we wait to see how he plays out in the actual test. It's also funny that you think I'm trying to set you straight. I don't give a damn if you think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. So, I thank you for that.![]()
It's funny most OU fans don't even like him. Well except for LT.LT, I'm not saying you're a fool or anything... obviously plenty of others liked Hurts. But I'm wondering what you're seeing with him. I'm an OU fan also -- not the hardest of hardcore but I watch all their games -- and I just don't see a good pro QB. Obviously he can run, but I don't think his passing is ever going to be very good. And you can't say he hasn't had great coaching with Saban and Riley. To me even his vaunted leadership and smarts , etc. are overrated.
I think too many people are seeing him in the latter half of his senior college career. I am looking at him as one who has been extremely reliable for most of his college career. Even though he was playing behind someone else the facts of his career is he came off the bench and performed like a starter. Even when he came to Oklahoma, Riley (who I think is a great talent evaluator) picked him to start over those that had been playing for him previously in a back up role. There was some pretty good talent already on the roster.LT, I'm not saying you're a fool or anything... obviously plenty of others liked Hurts. But I'm wondering what you're seeing with him. What’s the basis for saying most OU fans don’t like Hurts? It's funny most OU fans don't even like him. Well except for LT.
I'm an Iows fan but you won't see me claiming Stanley would be a good pick.
There are lots on this board. See what they say. What’s the basis for saying most OU fans don’t like Hurts?
That you basis? There are lots on this board. See what they say.
The vast majority on this board are anti OU as a general matter because their teams get scalped by them year in, year out. There are lots on this board. See what they say.
He is talking about the OU fans on this board. Not the whole board. That you basis?

I will be a 5 second OU fan for this. Hurts is a horrid.
That’s not a reliable representation. He is talking about the OU fans on this board. Not the whole board.
Like it or not everyone is going to have to wait and see on this. So far most quesses or opinions had him as a 4th round pick tops. Well scratch that because that was a wrong guess. Now the prediction is that he won’t be able to play well because Steve Walsh didn’t. That’s a solid rationale. Just hold your water and see how it plays out. He has his chance and the rest of the story is up to him.Okay, LT... I know he was a good college player and won a lot of games. That doesn't mean he'll be a good pro. Steve Walsh won a national championship in college, Troy Aikman didn't.
Oh well.
But it’s our energy.Everyone always saying this guy or that guy is the next that guy or this guy. Waste of energy.
Actually a lot of us said he will probably go in the second but it would be a huge mistake. Looks like most of us already nailed that.Like it or not everyone is going to have to wait and see on this. Um, that wasn't the prediction at all. Just an example of how college production doesn't mean pro production will follow. But you knew that...Now the prediction is that he won’t be able to play well because Steve Walsh didn’t.
