But I think hiring him in this situation could be a total disaster.
I don't think it would be. I agree with you but it's sort of par for the course. Hell we had an offensive coordinator in Moore who probably had a better relationship with Jerry too. And we still won 12 games.

Parcells raved about his work ethic. I think he is the type of guy who would sleep in his office to save time.
We need this attention that’s being given to The Village Idiot to stop. That imbecile can fuck right the fuck off. Or die in a fire. Whichever.

Didn’t Parcells rave about Zimmer transitioning to the 3-4 when he had always coached the 4-3 D? Said he did a tremendous job especially given the fact he had zero experience with the 3-4.

Yeah I think Zimmer is capable of doing more than just standard cover two all game. He is a smart guy. Had a rough patch in his life the last two years (wife and son died) and I guess he is ready to hop back in. At first I was kind of down on the idea but I'm starting to think maybe he would be the right choice.

Wasn't Mike Nolan out of the NFL for a while before his disastrous year at DC here?

I just don't understand why Zimmer would do this. He can see MM's situation as well as we can.

Unless there is some promise that he takes over if Mike is fired. Which would be a disaster.

Nah. He wants back in. If he does okay and Fat Mike flops, he has nothing to lose. The guy has recently lost his wife and son, so maybe he needs something else to fill the void. I dunno.

One confidence I have in Zimmer in that he will field solid run defense if he gets the talent. The split safety looks he employed may mean we change our minds about being set at safety.

People remember the Zimmy Wuss era and think Zone, but not exactly.

Did he lose another wife? Because the first one died in 2009.

And Zimmer doesn't have much to lose, but a one-year gig seems weird. Did no one else want him or something?

And if it's HCIW, that's always a terrible idea.

He survived multiple coaching changes in Dallas before. He knows how this works. He isn't McCarthys Dcoordinator he is Jerry's.

Right, which is an awful idea.

I'm just not sure why he'd do this unless he's HCIW which never works.

On another note, what's the deal with Whitt? I thought he was gone, but the Fan said yesterday that Washington hadn't hired him yet.

And on looking into that, I just saw this from Commanders Wire...

On Thursday, a local radio show host took great joy in being right about Dan Quinn being named the Commanders’ new head coach.
Chris Russell, the Team 980 host (1-4 pm, M-F), began his show with a bang. “We have something to be excited about!” Russell howled. “The Commanders have hired themselves a great head coach! That a boy, Adam Peters! That a boy, Josh (Harris), Magic (Johnson), Mark Ein, Mitchell Rales!”

“I told you guys, the day after the Dallas Cowboys game, the final game of the season, that I was told by someone in the Dallas Cowboys organization that Dan Quinn wanted this job and was very eagerly anticipating a call from the Commanders. He got it the next morning and wanted this job in the worst way.”
May explain a lot about that playoff performance. :angry
