I would go with all that but McCarthys play-calling, prep and offense in the playoff game were putrid. 12 wins are great and all that but getting your ass handed to you by the Packers who backed their way into the playoffs took some of his shine off.

You're not wrong and I advocate moving on from McCarthy because of it.

But not for Vrabel.

Vrabel wouldn't be my top choice but I'd take him over limp dick McCarthy who has now allowed the team to come out playing uninspired, mistake ridden bullshit ball in their last two home playoff games.

That's the team's history for the most part during this almost 30 years of nothing. No matter the coach, they fall apart in playoffs. There probably isn't a coach that can fix it in the toxic culture perpetrated by the Jones family.

Mike Lombardi said on espn today that the biggest issue when he worked for Al Davis was that the players didn't think they worked for the coach, they thought they worked for the owner. Sound familiar?

Perhaps not but might as well keep rolling the dice.

Vrabel lost at home in the first round of the playoffs against Baltimore after an 11-5 season, and lost at home in the first round of the playoffs against Cincinnati after a 12-5 season.

But who's counting since it didn't happen to us, I guess.

So all that matters is blindly looking at outcomes, eh? Not the overall performance of the team and the competition?

When they were the 1 seed they lost to Cincinnati in OT by a hair, a team who probably should've won the Super Bowl that year and who has a likely future HOF QB.

Compared to us getting rocked right off the bat by a 9-8 team with a QB making his first playoff start, and the 49ers game two years earlier where San Francisco immediately jumped out to a big lead and dictated the pace the rest of the game. We were down double digits nearly the entire game both times.

And of course he actually made a conference championship game (again, with Ryan Tannehill) and had his team pretty much even late in the game on the road against a guy who will go down as a top 3-5 QB all time at a minimum.

Since when do style points count? Either you win, or you lose. Bottom line.

I hear that all the time here in regards to the Cowboys.
It counts when it's obvious that the more talented team came out listless, lacking focus, and so forth, and particularly when we're talking about one coach doing more with a much less talented team vs. another.

Yeah. Sure. Ok.

Maybe those style points will help on his resume. Doubt it, tho.

When you want to have an actual nuanced conversation instead of stupid ass one liners you can let me know.
So, I answer you with basically the same thing YOU said, but mine is the stupid ass one liner, eh?

Whatever makes you feel better. Wait... Can I say that?

Again, I like Zimmer if nothing else because he's a hardass. He gets extra points for being one of the few holdovers who wasn't cowed by His Highness Parcells.

But I think hiring him in this situation could be a total disaster. Being a former Jerry Guy sets up a terrible dynamic with an HC already on the hot seat before we've even had the Combine.

I always liked Zimmer. I think Parcells did too.
