Should be interesting to see if the DMN knows more than “we are going all in” PT Barnum.

If Dallas truly sits pat after the playoff shitshow this season-especially with a new DC coming aboard- it’s pretty much a 100% certainty that nothing will ever change as long as the Jones family runs the team.
Of course it's a 100% certainty. But if you're not careful you'll get trashed for stating a 100% certainty. Better to ignore the certainty, just go on posting as if somehow it doesn't exist.

You still don't get it.

You're not called out for saying this, you're called out for acting like the rest of us don't already know.

I don't know how many times he has to be told for it to sink in.

Seems he thinks that despising Jerry/Stephen and loving the Cowboys are mutually exclusive. Both are possible.

Apparently Whitt has been hired by Redskins.

It is going to be Zimmer here. Was there ever any doubt. Fat Mike could scream on the tables that he hates the fucking guy and Jerry would still force it.

I'm guessing McCarthy would support the hire since it fits the profile of DC's he's gone after recently and Zimmer obviously gave him plenty of trouble when he was in Green Bay.

This is not thrilling at all.

There's nothing they could do that would be thrilling really.

That's really the truth. I would have liked Fangio before he was snatched up, but beyond that Zimmer is a really good hire.

The people that are against this probably wouldn't be if he wasn't here previously and they didn't have bad memories about it. But his track record has been very solid both in Cincinnati and Minnesota.

Always the safe, comfortable, familiar, and easy.

And why not? On every home-date Sunday you'll still see the stadium jammed with same hordes of goobers wearing their Cowboy jerseys and their faces painted silver and blue.
I could have used you back in the CFR days, but those times have passed. It's too late.

This quote from X above is interesting:

‘He's always kind of let me know that Darren Woodson was his guy. His best safety," Smith said. "So I've always kind of been chasing Woody in that way, and continue to do so.’” The connective tissue to the 90s squad Dallas has been trying to chase is there with Zimmer, but more than anything, he’s willing to teach players about defense to understand how their jobs tie into the other ten on the field—that’s something Dallas could use in 2024.

First, I don't think they make players like Darren Woodson anymore. Too many Deon Sanders-style "business decisions" being made when it counts.

Second, if Zimmer can actually "teach players about defense to understand how their jobs tie into the other ten on the field," that would be a plus. During the GB playoff debacle the DBs looked lost on some of those plays.

Again, it is criminal that Woody isn't in the HOF.

Fucked by stat cunt journalists.

If I remember correctly, Zim believed in a stout middle DL, pressure ends, good LB play and excellence in his safety play. I’m not crazy about a retread, but if-just if- Zim can twist Jerrys arm to get the players he needs to run his scheme it would be a win. Not sure Rivera or anyone else gets that from Jerry. Also, I really don’t want any Quinn holdovers outside of Harris.

And he's going to get almost none of that without major retooling or better efforts by people already on roster. Can you imagine how worn down #11 will be towards the end of the 2024 season playing full time Zimmer 4-3 DE?

I'm no DFDC, but I'm surprised so many are buying the Zimmer hire. And I even like Zimmer and how tough he is. But hiring an old Jerry crony for a lame duck coach is a terrible idea. Plus I really don't see how Parsons fits into a traditional 43.

I'd much rather have someone with no previous Jerry ties and who leans to a 34.
