Golden is growing on me, but the Longhorn thing is tough to deal with.
These aren't the country club Longhorns of old.

Everybody knows I'm a big Texas fan and yet you can count on one hand how many times since I've been a member of this board that I've advocated for us drafting a Longhorn, and that's because I wasn't a fan of how players from that program translated to the NFL.

The NIL money changed the game and you no longer have "program" guys. Therefore, that old Texas country club program doesn't really exist anymore, and even if it did, the guys aren't part of it long enough for it to rub off on them like before.

There are a number of players that were on that team last season along with guys that are still currently on the team that I would love to see in a Cowboys uniform, and Matthew golden is one of them.

On top of the impressive physical attributes, the guy is just a gamer.

Something crazy going on with pick 114. That was our pick that we traded to Carolina for Mingo but both Carolina and Chicago claim it. Various sites claim different. NFL says Chicago has it in a trade from Carolina but that wasn't included in previous trades.

The proper thing to do is return the 4th round pick to Dallas and Mingo returns to whatever depth chart he came from.

Definitely the only proper way to resolve this.

Yeah, why would a 4.50 be so hard to believe? I mean, Roy Williams S was a 4.53 over 20 years ago and we know he was no burner.

It's not, it's just a good number because some were speculating it would be closer to a 4.6. But the guy is actually a really good athlete. Wasn't sure on the long speed but I've heard his athleticism is excellent.

Still makes no difference to me, running in the low to mid 4.5's should put him solidly in the 8-14 range.

I'd be a bit surprised if he gets past Carolina and New Orleans.

Funny how you get so many different numbers when hand timed.
