Agreed. Isn't that the story of RB in the NFL though. A lot of guys like Dowdle but very few that are special. And on a limited carry basis he basically gives you what every other starting NFL RB gives you. It's sort of the whole point of rotating two backs.
He’s a better player than Davis , and good to partner with Pollard. Deuce ain’t there yet.

I was surprised to see Brooks and he looks like a player also. I could see him eventually being better than Tolbert even.

I don't mind Gallup getting some snaps but I'm really glad to see the other guys eat into his playing time.

Hopefully this means Gallup is gone in the offseason.
Brooks looked electric on a few plays.

Fat Mike begs to differ.

Maybe. Mike said he runs angry. Maybe a little but I don't think we can get carried away with that statement. I think Mike more was trying to praise his player rather than trying to be 100% accurate.

That first clip, Micah was getting pressure up the middle to the QBs left. DeVito saw him coming and it caused him to step up to his right. Where he met Sam for the sack, which was nearly a safety. He wasn't even rushing on that play. Just hanging out and spying. He owes that sack to Micah.

And on the second clip, look who is standing right there a split second from getting the sack himself. Micah Parsons.

Yeah, we all would like to see Micah light up the stat sheet. But people thinking he did not have an impact on this game don't know what they're watching.

True, I see some likening him to Isaiah Pacheco. Maybe more apt than the great MBIII.

No shame in it, Barber made a career out of his freak angry running. I'm not sure of an NFL RB that I can say runs as violent as he did.

Dowdle runs tough though, he is actually pretty athletic. He has some strengths. I'm not starting any Dowdle for starter chants. But I think he has shown enough to earn a role on offense beyond a couple garbage carries. Use him because he is effective.

I promise I'm not trying to be argumentative or pedantic but personally I think Barber was good but I wouldn't call him great.

I'm just talking about their playing styles really. And I agree he's probably closer to Pacheco.

I've come around a bit on Dowdle; I used to be pretty derisive of him and I couldn't understand why they kept him around. He's better than I thought but I don't think he gives us much more than a lot of other runners around the league. I don't think there's a whole lot special about him, but I do think he's a useful player.

Pretty much sums up where I'm at with him as well.

This raises some good points re: the oline. Steele had a far better day, although he did take a whoopin that first red zone attempt/fail. Then there was Biadasz getting abused on the Dak beauty to Cooks. Overall a clean pocket and open running lanes.

I think you misunderstood what I meant.

I didn’t hear his name called so it was a quiet day FOR HIM.
