I was surprised to see Brooks and he looks like a player also. I could see him eventually being better than Tolbert even.

I don't mind Gallup getting some snaps but I'm really glad to see the other guys eat into his playing time.

Hopefully this means Gallup his gone in the offseason.
think back to TC and the high praise for Brooks.

He looked good in preseason. I don't usually fall for that hype because 999 times out of a thousand it doesn't translate but this looks like it might be an exception.

Not that he's likely to be a good starter but I think he looks like a future contributor, like a Cedrick Wilson type.

Tolbert didnt have a great day yesterday. 2 catches on 5 targets, 2 yards. WTF?

I'm a Brooks homer, of course. Love that guy. He's long and lanky, which helps... but mostly he's tough, he's physical, he's very smart (remember he learned all three WR positions before camp was even over), he plays special teams.... basically IMO he wants it more than Gallup or Tolbert. They need to get him involved as much as possible because he might can help even later in the year.

The thing that I'm intrigued about is Olsen and Burkhardt talking about how fast he looked. That wasn't really part of his game, so I don't know if he's trained hard enough to get a little faster or if looks were just deceiving or what.

He's no Barbarian but I love that quote from a head coach. For years too many on the whole team didn't play pissed off enough.

Or it is more likely the first time those two clowns have ever heard of him so they had to say something.

His testing numbers were not great which is why it feels so shocking to me that he looks explosive and lanky. It feels like maybe we actually found a decent day three reciever. Pleasantly surprised.

he was a seventh rounder, kinda in the Mr Irrelevant range at 244.

I wondered if maybe in warmups he was going pretty much all out while the others were cruising, like so many vets do.

Even if that's what it was, give me the guy who practices really hard over the ones who don't.

Barber ran like you killed his dog and he's John wick.
Accurate.
Dowdle has burst , he also has some violence and will take dudes head on and can be hard to bring down.

I think you’re overstating Dowdle. He’s ok. But there are guys like him all over the NFL.
He’s no Marion Barber.
Agreed. Isn't that the story of RB in the NFL though. A lot of guys like Dowdle but very few that are special. And on a limited carry basis he basically gives you what every other starting NFL RB gives you. It's sort of the whole point of rotating two backs.
