This is where I am at. If they were free agents it would be a different ball game. But Ceedee is a year away from a massive raise. Gallup is eating up a chunk of change. What we really need is a young up and coming WR to pair with Lamb who could be cheap for the next 4 years.

With an older guy I don't know that the Cowboys will want to pay Lamb 18 mil a year from now, Gallup 11 mil and then another WR 15+ mil. Which means that you're really only having this Corp for 1 year. Now maybe Gallup gets cut after this season. But you'd still be paying your 1 and 2 receivers a lot of money.

I'm good with a 1 year rental but I'm not giving up a premium pick to do it.

We can easily get rid of Gallup after next year if he looks like he did last year again, so that's kind of moot for me. At any rate, this is the time to focus on winning right now, so making a move that benefits us for a year or two while potentially boxing us in 2 years down the line is something that has to be considered.

It's not a stretch to say that we'll be the best team in the NFC next year if we add just one or two legit difference makers, whether through FA or the draft.

I'm sure, he is marked for like almost 30 mil against their cap. His base salary is 19 mil but we can probably convert some of that to bonus to lower his number. He has 2 years left on his deal so it wouldn't be awful. The bonus money hits the Cards instead but they would still save about 8 mil on their cap this year.

Considering the Cooper deal for a fifth. I'd love to rip the Cards off for a fifth like we got ripped off. Similar salary, similar age. Cooper had been more recently productive. But I doubt the Cardinals are that dumb.

I mean I don't think anyone here dislikes Schultz. It's just that we don't want to pay him 14 mil a year on a long term deal. I would have offered him a contract too but it would have been below what he will get in free agency by a significant amount.
