To open up cap space over the next 2-3 years while locking him in to what will be probably no more than like the 10th-12th highest paid QB salary once you get to 2025, 2026, etc.
Yeah now it's about cap room. You better know if you want Dak or not by now. If you don't want him for more than 2 years then go trade up and draft a guy and begin the replacement process. You sure as heck should have moved past the prove it period at this point. If you want him for the next 2 years, you should probably want him past that too.

we're in the window now for Dak to step up and live up to his well paid status. He needs to win now, and the replacement shouldnt be far behind. You would think his successor will wait some time to become a starter.

He has been a starter for seven years in the NFL. You should know who he is and you either want to keep working with him or you don't. So you either extend him or prepare to cut bait. No reason for more wishy washy, prove it bullshit. You know the player. You're just wasting time if you decide to let him play 1 or 2 more years before you make a decision on an extension.

This is good news, I'd be more than happy to bring him back at half the price.
As long as it's a salary cut and not just a conversion to bonus. Unlike Zeke he is still useful when healthy. My guess is McGovern is gone as a result which is fine. We just need to prepare a LG to start games when Tyron goes down.

Talk about overrating Hendershot, but he did way more than Bell last year.

I think we're really going to miss Wilson. Like a lot. Nobody in the secondary brings anywhere near the level of physicality he does.

This would make a shit ton of sense if Bell had actually did anything, even on teams.

I think Quinn and his assistants are both good at their jobs, but if they can determine this after the guy registered one single tackle in September and didn't hit the field again, they are fucking wizards.

To me, Quinn needs to fight to get Wilson back. I will say this though, at a Kearse price.

If Quinn believes in Bell, I'll trust it. Maybe I'm too trusting. We had a ton of depth at safety. Hell Mukuamu looked great out there too. The coaches see these guys every day in camp, preseason and practice all year long. As fans we might have no idea but I guarantee our defensive coordinator and DBs coach knows a lot more about what the guy can do.

But honestly maybe they don't feel that way about Bell. I think Mukuamu deserves a role in the defense next year though. If that's as a box safety who can play man coverage on a WR that's awesome.

I agree, I trust Quinn for sure when it comes to stuff like this and stylistically both Bell and even Mukuamu are good fits for the exact role Wilson played.

I mean the guy has earned it. Dude literally figured out safety for us to the point that we had 3 dudes on the field they were so useful.
