See the first post of mine that you quoted. I said “I don’t see it working out.” I’m definitely not defending KM. I agree he was a huge part of the issue.
I understood what you were saying. I was just adding to your point.

I hope so, I'm just wondering why that article says "The offense will remain in place."

I think it is tied to their inability to admit the mistake of keeping him after JG left.

I hate dancing on his grave, but I’m still so happy Kellen got canned.

I was thinking today about how funny it is that while he was interviewing in Carolina, back at home they were already cleaning out his office.

He doesn’t deserve Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert doesn’t deserve Kellen Moore.

I wouldn't be surprised if Moore looks a lot better with an elite arm talent at QB.
I think we're all guilty of evaluating him ina vacuum. We led the league in scoring last year and were top 4 this year with Dak missing 5 games.

How much better can he look without Dak? In games Dak actually played since 2019 those 2 led the NFL in scoring.

I'm all for change and shit, but what's the plan here? Keep the Kellen Moore playbook and just have McCarthy call plays? Install a whole new west coast style offense? And expect that to produce more points in year 1 vs what we've been putting up?

Also, we're interviewing the Panthers RB coach. Hate to say it probably a Rooney Rule fulfillment, buy I'd rather have him over Shottenheimer or McAdoo.

I hate this line of thinking and it happens all the time with coaches and coordinators. You would hope guys learn and improve as they get more experience. You better not be the same coach at 55 as you were at 45 and at 35. I sure hope I'm a better professional than I was 10 and 20 years ago.

If I had to guess they're probably just planning on bringing in McAdoo in some form or fashion and he's going to bring Nixon with him as RB coach and potentially some sort of trumped up title to go with it.

Carolina's running game was amazing the second half of the season with very little overall offensive talent.

Their QB situation speaks for itself, their RB's were JAG's (although I'd love it if we replaced Elliott with Foreman on a cheap deal), their WR's were terrible outside of Moore, and their OL was full of JAG's outside of a rookie in Ekwonu and maybe Corbett.

Moore was literally the only player on the roster who is anywhere near a Pro Bowl caliber player.

So long story short, we know McCarthy is calling plays, if we brought this guy in as some sort of trumped up RB coach/run game coordinator with the title of "OC" I think that'd be pretty solid.

The fact that Carolina kept Campen is a bit of an issue. I really don’t care who the OC is if we don’t get the right hire for the OL.

Yea but we're probably just going to keep this rando assistant OL guy and promote him, so prepare yourself for that.

I still wish we knew why Philbin was canned. I thought he did a good job. And with his Mike ties, you wonder if Jerry forced that.

I thought he'd done a decent job as well. The line fell off when he got sick last year.

Elite arm talent doesn't mean much when all the routes are curls, stops and come backs.
It will be interesting. We saw Garrett move on and look horrific with the Giants offense. I'm curious to see if Kellen shows it was Dak that was the problem or if he shows that he just sucks as a play caller.
