Damning of Kellen Moore

Pretty damning of Dak as well. Makes you wonder, if he's not making better reads at this stage of career, if he ever will.

Also makes you wonder why anyone viewing this video would hire Moore as OC.

I honestly would give some consideration to bringing Jon Kitna back as QB coach.

The most progress I've ever seen Dak make from one year to the next was the one and only year Kitna was his QB coach.

Dak is never going to be an accurate passer, but I think some people forget just how much worse his accuracy used to be prior to the season he spent with Kitna.

Whatever he did with Dak had a very positive effect on the guy and I would love it if he came back in the same role.

I wondered about that, too. As far as I know he's still coaching high school in the Dallas area. Seems like they could offer him a huge pay raise for a couple of years and then he could go back to the HS ranks if that's what he wants to do.

Feh. If Kitna was so good, why isn't he in the NFL?

The issues with Dak in the video were not so much accuracy as him taking too long to make reads and get the ball out. That, and a combination of poor and predictable route designs really handcuffed him on certain plays against the 49ers.

Like when he rolled right and almost got nailed for a safety with less than a minute left. That was a bizarre move on his part.

Yeah, I think play calling and better weapons can help with speeding up reads. There were times this year where Dak was really sharp and progressed through reads and got the ball out. Look at the Tampa game where he shredded them. But when you have 4 guys running curls, that's not really something easy to read. Guy's not open, start scramble drill. Not sure what else you do as a QB. Maybe if he had a WR that he could look at and go, that guy will get open and fight for the ball. But when Lamb is double covered, do you trust Gallup to do that? Nope. The corner runs a better route than he does and ends up with the pick.
