Man, I’m one of the most negative people here on the boards sometimes and even I’m enjoying the hell outta beating that fag Brady. Especially after listening to all the
GOAT/7-0/TomCanWeSuckYou media sluts fawn over him all week. I was screaming like a little girl last night. :lol
Right, same here.

I'm as negative as they come, but I'm enjoying the hell out of this.

Here's the thing.....I totally get being apathetic and pessimistic after what we've been through.

At my lowest point 2012-2019, I pretty much stopped caring with the exception of 2014. The wins were cool but I was like "They'll fuck it up somehow".

I went from being someone who lived and breathed this shit to someone who just didn't care.

Then a funny thing happened -- I started treating this shit as a hobby. What a concept, right?

I'd love to tell you how I had some moment of clarity but no such thing occurred. I just found myself having a renewed interest in the Cowboys but in a much different way than before.

I don't "care" like I used to, but I do enjoy watching the games and the losses don't bother me for more than a few minutes.

Gone are the days of having my evenings ruined when they lost. Gone are the days where I was too nervous to eat during games.

And I'm sure my wife appreciates how I no longer refuse to do anything during a game now. :lol

Now that I treat this as nothing more than a hobby, I found that I can enjoy it while not letting it truly bother me when things don't go as I'd hoped.

I know this is how it always should have been, but when you're a diehard fan like I was for 30 years, it's hard to not love this shit and take it far more seriously than you should......but those days are gone.

So while the Cowboys will never mean to me what they used to and wins don't make my entire week like they used to, I still get enjoyment out of it without any of the anger or frustration that ruins my mood.

I still don't think they can win a SB with the culture being what it is, but hey.....if I didn't have even a modicum of hope, then why even follow the sport anymore, right?

So my advice to you? @Smitty

Treat as a hobby. You'll be glad you did.

I think I did, which is why I'm not enthused.

I'm not living or dying by it anymore.

If we lose, I roll it off.

But conversely I'm not hanging on every last win anymore either. Oh, we won the wildcard? Nice.

But I'm not so invested that I'm desperate at every moment and ecstatic when they win.

And I've found that it's like, oh, good, they won a wildcard round.

A large part is their own Dallas/Jones fuckery.

But another big part is that I fucking hate the way the league is run. I hate the new rules. I hate the shitty refs. I hate that coming back from 28-0 is routine anymore and that defense is impossible. I hate the new draft format. I hate the new announcer teams, I hate that Buck and Aikman don't do our Sunday games anymore. I hate the 17th game. I hate the new playoff format. And I hate that the league definitely doesn't call games fairly for Dallas.

Feel like Lawrence has been quiet for a little while. Cut his snaps and give more to Fowler. Keep him fresh and Fowler had some good rushes last night.

Yeah, there's zero percent chance we would trade Diggs. Jerry is already backing up the brinks truck.

But I wouldn't be eager to pay this player.

Like, what if Detroit is willing to give you 18 and a second next year for him?

I'll sign a much cheaper CB in free agency. What if I could get, like, Da'Ron Payne from Washington to help at DL, and CB Cam Sutton from Pittsburgh or something, for the same price?
You know that’s not Stephen’s bag.

But two, the first step in being a team like Baltimore is making the playoffs consistently so that eventually you get good draws and good health and good matchups where you can advance. And this team is making that step.

Great point.

People forget how desperate the situation felt when Tyron went down like 10 days before the opener, he's more than justified the selection and looks like a foundational piece even though he still has some warts and room for improvement.
Tyler has far exceeded expectations for me .
