OT a little, but I think that's before Jimmy realized how elite a talent you needed at QB to win at this level. I mentioned last week watching an old FSU-Miami game from the Jimmy era with Deion, Michael, Bennie Blades, all those guys. I couldn't believe how spare Steve Walsh was and how Jimmy could ever think he was better than Aikman. I think Jimmy was so spoiled with all the talent on those UM teams, he thought just a good mentality and leadership could win.

But I guess at least he wasn't married to the high draft pick.
Take this to the College Nostalgia Thread, dork.

In my opinion Dallas doesn't fit the description because to me the Jerry 3 ring circus is a dysfunctional side show, but to Payton who has a very close relationship with them I'd imagine he thinks it does fit. I'd also imagine he's confident that he could come in and have a Parcells-type influence/level of respect within the organization.

The fact that we have a scouting department that has drafted very well over the last 8-10 years is probably a big part of it too.

Yeah I don’t see it either. He witnessed Parcells having to deal with the damage Jones did first hand.

He's not coming here. Aside from the reasons he states in the article, Jerry would never give him the money he wants.

Nor would we be willing to drop the draft choices either.
Yeah he isn't coming for free and this team lives and dies by the draft. The last thing we can afford to do is give away draft resources. Given our reliance on the draft we really should be scheming ways to get extra picks if anything.

wait another year and you'll "only" have to pay him. will he want to sit out that long just to coach for Jerry? doubtful.

Hey, maybe we can give up a first for him, and then trade him away for a 5th!

Never heard of this one. So was he driving that to Love Field where his credit cards got cut up?

So Armstrong + Fowler + Peters = Cooper?
No, because Cooper leaving decimated the WR room and offense, while adding the other 3 only reinforced an already solid defensive unit.
