The controversy would keep him and the team center stage, in the headlines. RELEVANCE. All he cares about. Even if both Rush and Prescott wind up being second-rate QBs and yet one more season goes in the shitter, at least for some part of it Jerry stays relevant.
No.I don't claim to know shit about NFL contracts, but could there be any way for Dallas to have an out if Dak can't win back his job after an injury?
thats a huge shit sandwich right thar.
Been screaming this every since we drafted Pollard. Old school doesn't mean bad. It means it's your identity. We are good at rush blocking. Lean on it.That means more two back sets.
As if the other 50 stars scattered about weren't enough.
He is just trying to not get fired right now.As if the other 50 stars scattered about weren't enough.
Worried about the wrong shit, as usual.
I remember back in '91 when Aikman returned from injury, Jimmy stuck with Beurlein even in the playoffs.I'm kind of glad to hear he'd even entertain a debate if Rush played well enough. though. I'd expect him to think Dak gets his job instantly even if he can barely grip the ball and Rush has a perfect QB rating.
But really, if you listen to what he says, he's right. He just said a controversy would mean we'd played well enough with Rush to win games.
Yeah, and it ended in Detroit.I remember back in '91 when Aikman returned from injury, Jimmy stuck with Beurlein even in the playoffs.
I know. Dak sells too much merch and is too marketable for Jerry to pull the plug. Unfortunately that stuff matters in Dallas.Yeah, and it ended in Detroit.
That defense just wasn't equipped yet. Then Johnson said fuck it, we are going to fix it and fix it he did.
This is not a goddamn thing like that.
Rush could win five straight. The job goes right back to the face.
It is so sad that it does.I know. Dak sells too much merch and is too marketable for Jerry to pull the plug. Unfortunately that stuff matters in Dallas.
OT a little, but I think that's before Jimmy realized how elite a talent you needed at QB to win at this level. I mentioned last week watching an old FSU-Miami game from the Jimmy era with Deion, Michael, Bennie Blades, all those guys. I couldn't believe how spare Steve Walsh was and how Jimmy could ever think he was better than Aikman. I think Jimmy was so spoiled with all the talent on those UM teams, he thought just a good mentality and leadership could win like it did in college.I remember back in '91 when Aikman returned from injury, Jimmy stuck with Beurlein even in the playoffs.
