Yeah, I actually am really high on Forbes. I'm just worried about a guy that size being blown out of screen plays. WR screens have become pretty common in the NFL. You need a corner who is going to defeat that block. At 166 pounds I'm afraid an offensive player could just pick him up and throw him. Even if he was just 180 I'd say well he can add 10 pounds and be ok. But 166 pounds at 6'1", even if he put on 10 pounds he would be really skinny.Yep, if we had a big need at CB I'd roll the dice on him but given that we're pretty solid there I wouldn't take a guy that thin in the first, lots of risk there.
I'm with you on not wanting a corner in the first. I just like the guys we have and don't see the need. But I do very much like guys like Forbes, Banks and Cam Smith. I'll leave off Witherspoon, Porter and Gonzales who I also love but know will be gone by our pick. Now if Porter, Gonzales or Witherspoon is there at 26 I might consider it.
Otherwise give me Darius Rush later. He killed it at the Senior Bowl. He is 6'2" with 33+ inch arms and ran a 4.36 forty. He literally fits the mold perfectly of a Dan Quinn corner. And where is he going? 3rd round or later?
