I guess we can say goodbye to what little hopes of drafting we had of drafting Duece Vaughan.
What happened?

I can't imagine they draft him with Pollard tagged. Would think they would want at least one bigger back.
Well could be. But you could also look at as that's a one year deal. Draft Deuce, use 3 backs and Pollard walks next year. Pollard can run between the tackles. He isn't that small. Just have to limit his carries somewhat. You can do that with a couple other backs. And if you like Malik Davis he runs pretty physical so he could fit in as the third back, or draft 2 guys. Vaughn shouldn't be a premium pick anyway. He is a day 3 guy.

I also don't have enough confidence in the team to be able to utilize 3 backs. They just barely learned how to use 2 TEs. Nor the foresight to figure its a 1 year deal with Pollard.

I wouldn't take Vaughn before the fifth honestly. But at that point why not? And if he goes earlier, cool there are other backs.

Yeah, or at least a back durable and explosive enough to take the bulk of carries.

Pollard is not that. He's seriously injured his lower leg/foot two years in a row now facing physical defenses.

Realize I'm in the minority, but I'd like to keep LVE around for another year or two.
Im with you, I think he's valuable in Quinn's scheme. We missed him when he was out a few games.

Anthony Barr can get the hell on, but LVE needs to stick around another year at least.

Damone held up last season and played surprisingly well, and hopefully he can start learning more about the rest of the defense.

Anything they get out of Cox has to be considered a bonus at this point.

I look for Clark to progress too, but Cox is the mystery. So many folks were so excited about his abilities.

Cox looked really good in preseason too. The only thing I can fathom with him is that he isn't playing within the system the way they want. Like he isn't taking care of his responsibilities the way he should. As a fan we can't see that because we don't know what those are. I still hold put hope that things will click for him but he is running out of time.

That and you would think he could at least be good on special teams and be active on game day. But he can't even accomplish that for some reason. Maybe he just clashed with the LBers coach. But that's just a total random guess.

We're either going to sign or trade for a vet or take a WR in the first 2 rounds.
I'm starting to come around to some of the second tier WR's.

I think you have sort of your first round WR's in Johnston, Addison, Smith-Njigba, Flowers and Hyatt. Put them in whatever order you want. But assuming we miss out on them it's the next group where I'm starting to find some guys I like. The Tillman's, Reed's, Perry's, Scott's, Mims's and Wilson's of the world. I have a hard time figuring out the order of these guys. There are a number of them I really like. Some I actually don't like as much such as Rice, Dell, Boutte and Downs. But I have no idea what order these guys will be drafted in.

I also feel like I need to go back and watch Ford-Wheaton. Guy put up silly good runs for a guy his size. 6'4" 220 pounds running a sub 4.4 forty. His stats were pedestrian at 675 yards receiving this past year. But in college football stats can be a bit deceiving. I want to watch some of him and see if he is just a guy who went under the radar or if he is just a track guy.
