I think he is a good runner but not special. This isn't Lamar Jackson or Michael Vick. I think sometimes when you hear people talk about his running ability it gets overhyped a bit. I think we have plenty of guys on defense with similar or better speed that should be able to shut down his running ability. Hell we have 2-3 DE's who are probably faster than him. Of course we probably have multiple DE's who are faster than LVE too.
He's nowhere near as dynamic as those guys, he's more of a power back like Newton was (but smaller) whereas those guys are popping off big chunks in the open field with their speed/elusiveness, and as a result he's taking way more punishment.

He's considered a great runner because the stats are there and the Eagles running game overall is strong, but his shelf life is going to be even shorter than those guys given how he's used.

It literally all hinges on Dak. He will make or break this season.

For the first time in a long time, as good as the defense has looked, I'm not sure I agree with this. Good defense and running game and they don't need much from the QB.

I am with you on this one. If he has to become a game manager, so be it.

Good test for our defense with regard to a running QB. Not too concerned with his 4 TDs passing. Rush has 4. Hurts needs to be haunted by the front 7. Or just 4.

It's a very good test because if we're going up against an average OL or an immobile QB, or especially both, goodnight.

If we're going up against a one-dimensional team that can't run, goodnight.

But a team with a strong OL that can run the ball and has a QB that's a dynamic runner, plus two legit WR's?

That's close to as tough as it'll get for our defense.

I think it'll be kind of a slow death since our offense just won't be able to keep up and the Eagles will be able to dictate the pace of play with a lead, but that second go around in Dallas will be different.

I wasn't that impressed with Hurts. We know what he is, and that's a runner. He doesn't handle pressure well at all. If you blitz or even a little pressure comes free, he just sort of turtles up and goes down.
I agree that he simply can't handle pressure. He will immediately give up and start thinking like a rabbit.

What do you do with a rabbit? You eliminate his options to escape.

I wasn't aware Faux 88 was dealing with a hip issue.

Real 88 Club members would play on Sunday without hesitation. Lamb's going to look like a major puss if he skips this game after what Parsons just did in LA.
