The Great Amigo Thread...

I wish he would just finish his book and not spend time reading other authors.

Hos,

I don't think people (me to be specific) want people to know that they are pissed off, I think they are sharing what they see. If I see something that is good, I would say, Hey Hos did you see that pot of gold over there. However, if I see something that is bad, I would say, Hey Hos did you see that rattle snake by your camp fire.

I hate that you regret starting this forum. The best thing about a forum is that Group Think doesn't exist and people share what they perceive to be their reality. I think you are a good person. Since you invited me to come here, I fell bad that you have regrets because of something I may have posted.

I will refrain from sharing any more unsavory thoughts about the team; as I do have the utmost respect for you.

My apologies ole friend. (FYI, No sarcasm in this post).

This guy just vaulted to the top of the amigo board.

Good god.

I really don't understand the people saying they're not going to come here or post for a while, or whatever. I really don't understand what anyone is upset about with these forums.

This is a good place and I don't see how anyone could be upset, or unhappy, being an active member here. There are lots of good posters here, it's all about the Cowboys (Good and bad), so I don't get why anyone would be unhappy to be part of this great place.

Maybe that's just me.

Me not posting as much is really about losing a whole lot of weight. It is long overdue. To do it I need to re-arrange my time. So I am going to give up some of my time here to get back into lifting weights and cardio.

I'm going to build my gardens and greenhouse and read "Les Miserables" and start trying to live healthier.

I would be doing this even if we were 19-0 Super Bowl champions and everyone in here was making me look like a negative Nancy. Just something I have to do.

I do not know if anyone else has said it. I am disappointed in this place right now, but me stepping away a little more isn't about that.

I will try my best to step up the quality of what I say. Hard to improve upon perfection.

That was a joke people...relax.

Just as with the zone we have posters on here who enjoy stirring the pot and pissing other posters off. That wouldn't be so bad, but their tactics have caused some frustrated posters to turn completely negative and slide down that slippery slope to Risentown. Losing has allowed old agendas to return and old battle scars have been ripped open, and it is all because of 3 or 4 posters who should never have been invited in the first place.

Ruh roh, he's disappointed in his minions. If ever there was a greater call for attention, I can't imagine what it would be.

That blindzebra midget is one shit I would love to physically assault in real life.

This guy just vaulted to the top of the amigo board.

Why do so many of these guys kiss his ass?

What exactly has he done or currently does that benefits these nitwits so much that they feel the need to stay in his good graces so desperately?

It's pathetic.

He bolds and quotes this from BZs post

There is literally nowhere else for me to go any more. Sad. I used to be a so welcomed. Make one comment about liking tacos and become persona non grata because a bunch of idiots got their panties in a wad over it.

Whats the back story on the taco thing again? Why in the world would anyone be mad about that,...... seems crazy.

Hostile said:

From there the story is that my "I like tacos" comment got a lot of laughs and likes, and this pissed off the DCU guys to no end. They began to whine about tacos and for some stupid reason that I can't even begin to explain, the Mods at CZ bought in and over reacted to any mention of tacos. It remains the dumbest "rule" at CZ, especially since it was never a rule. I have been told if I ever attempt another taco hijack I will be banned.

I find that idiotic at best, and I do mean at best.

Here's the post he linked to. It's from back in Nov '12.

I Explain Tacos For Your Enjoyment

Hostile said:
Okay, so a few people on here do know the story of Wacky Ralph. A few do not. Most of you know about a thread hijack that happened on CZ where I simply said "I like Tacos" in response to an idiot poster there, T-RO. That comment was actually a tribute to Wacky Ralph, a fictional character created in the mind of a lunatic Cowboys fan named Scott David.

Scott is a riot. Plain and simple. A few years ago he created an online character at extremeskins named Wacky Ralph. WR had an obsession with tacos. He is perhaps one of the most memorable posters ever on ES.

One day Scott noticed a thread on ES about the dearly departed Wacky Ralph, and he posted a comment on iceberg's "Detox" forum.

He called it..."From The Sins Of Our Past Department...Wacky Ralph."

He posted the link to the now dead thread on ES and said, "some guys just don't want to leave poor Ralph alone."

Many of us did not get it. So he explained.

I must warn you now, the links do not work the ES Mods killed the thread.
Scott David said:
Ok...

About two years ago I was at work... and had to use a different computer. This sucked for me, 'cause I didn't remember my DMN password-- I had simply bookmarked the webpage so I didn't hafta sign in every time I flipped to the screen. Now... I didn't wanna be just another tool who uses different aliases on the forum (since that sort of thing pissed me off), so I wasn't sure what to do. One of my coworkers shouted something at me and I answered back, "My cat's breath smells like catfood!" --a line from Ralph Wiggum on The Simpsons. Inspiration struck! Or maybe that was gas. Either way, I logged back on to the DMN forum under the name Wacky Ralph. It became sort of a literary challenge-- to create a fictional character so bizarre that it couldn't be linked back to me. And it worked! Wacky Ralph started using a "Wack-Factor" on posts he didn't like, quoting washed-up professional wrestlers, continually rambling on about tacos, and acting like a general moron. And I tell ya, it was liberating to behave like a goof, not really caring if anyone took you seriously. Wacky Ralph became popular in a short time. One of the other posters even named him the forum's MLB in some post, if I remember right.

Then, I got my old computer back, and I figured that would be the end of Wacky Ralph. But the cruel hand of fate pulled Ralph back into the limelight once again...

On Jerry's old "backroom" forum, I came clean with my creation, telling others the truth about Wacky Ralph. Mr. Bill had two interesting observations-- One, that he actually liked Wacky Ralph better than Scott David... and two, that I should've given Wacky Ralph a better sendoff, like a soap opera death. Naturally, I liked Mr. Bill's second observation the best.

Since the Wacky Ralph name was already taken on the DMN forum-- and since I (of course) couldn't remember the WR password, I decided to revive the character at the Extreme Skins' forum. It was fun-- Wacky Ralph was a lovable, incoherent fat-ass with a strange taco fetish... and he instantly became the most beloved member at the Extreme Skins' website. You see, for the past two years, I've been working on a novel (only 50 pages away from completion... thank God...), and for whatever reason, writing about football helped me to overcome the always-perpetual writer's block, so Wacky Ralph actually helped me do a better job with my book.

A few weeks before I got married back in May, I had enough of Wacky Ralph, so I decided to kill him off. In a final post ( http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/s...ht=wacky+ralph ) I explained to everyone that I had a terminal disease and was going to die... so see ya.

And I never posted again.

This caused a huge stir in the Extreme Skins community-- one that I never intended. I figured that it was pretty obvious that I was joking around, but some people took it seriously and a huge manhunt for Wacky Ralph began. The poster Art tracked down my e-mail address over to a George Carlin forum I posted at a few times two years ago, which sort of freaked me out. And that was the end of it.

But once again, the hands of fate got grabby...

Jerry started to post on the Extreme Skins' forum as Ralph's Kidnapper ( http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/s...ht=wacky+ralph ), claiming that he had Ralph locked inside his trunk and issued a series of ransom demands. The Extreme Skins' forum didn't know what to do-- all forums, from the DMN to Mazevo ,has to deal with the occasional troll, but this was a mind-**** of a truly different creature. Eventually, the moderators at Extreme Skins terminated his account. But Wacky Ralph's popularity continues unabated over at Extreme Skins-- whenever you go their forum and hit "search", the ten most recent searches are shown. And without fail, there's always two or more of 'em devoted to poor ol' Ralph.

So that's the strange saga of Wacky Ralph, Internet Legend. You are now one of a handful of people in the Brotherhood of Ralph-- those who know the secret of the Champion of Tacos and general idiocy. Hide that which has been revealed, for there are those out there who'd break open your skull to discover the origins-- and final resting place-- of Wacky Ralph.

One last time: TACO!

In his goodbye thread at ES Ralph gave the Redskins fans a lot of advice in his send off. It was hilarious. Among them were the lines "if you and a friend pick up girls named Hambone and Heather, Heather will the pretty one."

"Laminate your porn so you can take it in the shower with you."

And a host of other wild comments. He ended with saying he regretted never having sex with Marilyn Monroe so he had a shovel and was on his way to CA.

Redskins fans went nuts trying to save Wacky Ralph.

And now you the story of the Taco commentary and why I said it. It was a tribute to Wacky Ralph, a true gentleman and scholar and the grand master of Taco love.

Read it, MFer.

Or I will tie you down and force you to listen to nothing but New Kids on the Block and Justin Bieber, A Clockwork Orange style.

At this point in my life, I listen to Thomas the tank engine and paw patrol songs daily.

New kids and bieber might be a step up. :lol

Due to the postings of a select few who've gotten even worse about pushing their ongoing agendas around here, it's become borderline unbearable for me to be around, too.

I see no reason to post news, blogger articles and other team-related information -- made available to discuss -- when most all of the discussion, nowadays, revolves around the negative stuff being posted, such that anything else seems to get left to die on the vine.

I can understand the need to vent frustrations over team personnel and decisions that appear to be wrong from a fan's perspective, but the ongoing team/head coach bashing lately comes across as overboard to me. And reading posts that appear to show we have certain Owners who are actually happy our Cowboys have struggled so hard to win games -- as if all of the team's difficulties serve to prove 'em right, somehow… in 20-20 hindsight, of course -- is enough to make me sick about the most recent state of affairs on the boards.

Hos, I think I'll tag along with your "stepping away" program; not posting as much until around the '16 NFL Draft.

As for me, it won't have anything to do with investing my time in a fitness/weight-loss program, or other projects. It's just gotten to where it's not worth the time it takes to post much of anything Cowboys-related that does not lend itself to the current forum-takeover attitudes of a select few who don't seem to want -- actually refuse -- to pay much (if any) attention to any other Owners who post thoughts, facts and opinions counter to their own points of view concerning all they see as wrong with the Dallas Cowboys… unless they decide they'd rather launch into an all out agenda-driven posting campaign whereby they try to show how everyone else is wrong but them, that is.

I feel the pain of our collective frustrations too, I just need to take a break from reading all the hypercritical stuff a few others continue to post in a neverending attempt to represent themselves as if they are SO MUCH smarter than everyone else is around here, and how if only the Dallas Cowboys would have adopted their each and every spot-on opinion about team-related moves along the way, we would most certainly be basking in the afterglow of having won several consecutive Super Bowls by now.

Okay, my last sentence ended with an obvious overstatement, but you get my point.

So by all means, continue venting away in order to promote your agendas, you small few, even if all it serves is to drive other Owners away from wanting to post alongside you on the various forums for a while -- and for a longer period of time than has ever happened around CowboysOwn, heretofore.

And for what? What good does it do to take the know-it-all approach to posting?

Seems to me to be a small-minded approach, made all the worse by insulting others along the way due to giving little or no credence to other Owners' more-open-to-others thoughts and opinions. I mean, where is the benefit to the Own community at large there?

The differing opinions we're bound to have shouldn't preclude us all from being mutually respectful, even polite, to one another. I'll admit that I've grown increasingly frustrated by the element that routinely practices a "We-think-we-are-so-much-smarter-than-everybody-else" approach to posting and yet seldom (if ever) offers thanks, support or encouragement for the good things most other Owners bring to the table.

Never thought I would see things get this bad here at Own, to be honest. I'd thought our method of hand-picking invitees would help prevent the types of ongoing negativism seemingly preferred by a small handful. I cannot say most anything that has been posted so far is anything I would consider to be a bannable -- or even benchable -- offense, but the posts I most take exception to are nothing I care to try to fight against. Wouldn't do any good.

I tried fighting against that ilk at CowboysZone; I came here to get away from that sort of nonsense.

As for the vast majority of Owners who have always been a pleasure to share time with, this post has NOTHING to do with my being at odds with you. "THANK YOU" to ALL of you. You know who you are.

Merry Christmas to all those I consider to be Own forum friends of mine . .

Exactly. I remember when Leon Dixson, I think it was, wanted to invite Erod from Twilight Zone this off-season. I advised against it because I had seen his true colors from 2007-10. I knew they would resurface if the Cowboys even started off 3-2, let's say. Thankfully, Erod was not permitted to pollute this oasis from the inanity and wrecklessness of other message boards.

From now on, I really think we need to put it for a vote. No more admitting folks because they were a good guy who had a good attitude after Dallas beat Indianapolis 42-7. We need to keep cultivating posters who don't lose their crap when the Cowboys lose theirs. Give us a name and let us vote, discuss, and vet future posters.

Holy shit.

In case anybody doesn't know, this emperor guy is Mark Lane, a guy that supposedly has some press credentials with the team. At least he tweets like he does. I have no idea if he is legit or not. Even if he is, he's still one of the mindless morons as evidenced with the above post.
