I bought a new TV for my wife and daughters to watch Lifetime on. I'll either record and watch the games after they've gone to bed, or stream them on my phone.

I'm clearly a better person than you people.

Same shit happens to me every year end. Bonus burning a hole in my pocket, in Best Buy a lot. I have to ensure I do not go there alone otherwise I will probably get one just because.

After having the same TV in the living room for 10 years, I can tell you, watching TV last night was a whole new experience.

did you have intentions of buying this good of a TV, or did you resist the pressure to buy something else - larger TV, accessory, sound system, etc?

I actually spent about 300 bucks more than I had originally planned. But, I think the TV I got made it well worth it. I don't think I would have been happy with the TV I originally had scoped out.

I went from UHD to SUHD. It's the step up Samsung made to compete with the OLED TVs.

That's cool. One feature stumbled upon that I love is syncing it to my phone and being able to control/play music wirelessly from phone through my TV sound system. Working around the house, changing music as I please.

Yep, this one has that, too. This one also has what they call a "One Connect" hub. Essentially you connect the hub to the TV and it has 6 HDMI connections and 4 USB connections, so you can also plug in your phone to the hub to play music and it will charge your battery while doing so. I haven't learned all of the features just yet, but from what I have seen and read, there are a lot of them.
 
I try to buy a new TV every 20 years, whether my old one is still working or not.
 
When the shit hits the fan, turn the fan off and disinfect it before powering back on.
