I just have to say this because it irked me so much.

I was watching the Marlins As game.

Marlins starter Eury Perez had a perfect game going into the 8th and the Marlins led 8-0.

The Marlins pulled Perez with a perfect game on the line in the 8th. Fucking sociopaths.

Karma almost got them, too. Marlins barely hung on 9-8.

Let the fucking guy try to make history, dickheads.

If I owned that team, the manager would be gone before the next inning started. Holy fuck. And, if I were that pitcher I would immediately ask for my release or trade. And that doesn't even address the fanbase. My god.

It sucks but its health related evidently. Was on a pitch count coming back from Tommy John and just had a recent stint on the IL. He was at 92 pitches so possibly he was supposed to have come out earlier??

Forgot you said that you watched the game.

In most other circumstances I get it. But a perfect game?

Keep him out there. If he loses the perfect game, ok pull him then.

If he does get the perfect game though, how many more pitches would he be adding with 6 batters? 20 or so? I think he'd be ok.

Yeah, the only way pulling him would be acceptable to me is if the pitcher asked to come out, and there is not a pitcher on this planet (pain or not) that would ask to be pulled with a perfect game on the line. That is infamy we are talking about. Your name lives on forever. No way a pitcher walks away from that willingly.

May not have been up to manager or player.

Could have also been player choice.

I will choose to give him an asterisk for the game.
