When they were trading for Garcia, they were only 1 1/2 out of first, and 1/2 game out of the WC. Their bullpen has imploded since then, and they are now about 7 out. From buyers to sellers in a week. I'm ok with that. They weren't winning anything, anyway. And they didn't give up much for him in the first place.

Life comes at you fast.

The Braves are in the same boat. About 2 weeks ago things were looking up. We reached .500 and were within shouting distance of the Nationals. Since then they’ve lost about 10 of their last 13 games and are currently 14 games back.

So Reed to Sox for 3 minor league pitchers...all relievers. Not going to pretend I know how good the prospects are, but I do like that we seem to have a plan of building our bullpen with hard throwing young dudes.

Not going to lie, I am a little disappointed that the Astros didn't make a bigger splash by getting a Wilson or a Britton, but I am glad the team has a big enough lead to buy some guys time to get healthy before the postseason.

The rumor is that a deal was in place for Britton, and then Baltimore's owner unilaterally overruled it.

There were at least 2 other fans reaching for that ball...

Sometimes it is the little things

Only guy in MLB to hit .200 and still have an OPS over 800.

Don't know if thats something to be proud of?

He's no Justin Smoak.

:outtahere

Smoak got us Lee. Lee got us to the World Series. I can live with that trade.

The Astros made a late run at Darvish and in their estimation offered a stronger package than the Dodgers, sources said. The Rangers held a decidedly different opinion, viewing the Astros’ offers for Darvish, both early and late, as non-competitive

"I mean, I'm not going to lie, disappointment is a little bit of an understatement," Keuchel said Tuesday, a day after the trade deadline

How does that make sense? They completely tanked for five years to get into a position like this and GM Jeff Luhnow still won’t go all-in?

“I’m stunned,” an AL executive said on Tuesday. “They had the prospects to get a big piece. There’s a time when you just have to go for it, and this is their time.”

Im really surprised they didnt get more pitching than they did since McCullers and Kuechel are always injured.

Baseball is so strange.

Swept by the lowly Rangers and then a week later we take 3 out of 4 from the Astros.

Seems unfair to have to go to work on a special occasion like this

Amed Rosario is fun to watch...needs to tighten his fielding, but he is going to be a stud offensively. I would like to see him shorten his swing, but that is quibbling.
