Extending Pickens

Ooh, 56% :rolleyes

No one in this draft is as good as him, and there's no guarantee they land Tate or Tyson even if they do deal him. This is all nonsense.

Tate or Tyson being available at pick 12 is certainly less than 50%. They wouldn't be trading Pickens to get better. They would be trading Pickens to save money ala Micah Parsons.

Would you rather a draft pick this year or a first round pick next year? Hate to say it but I think I'd rather have the first next year...
Absolutely.

Sure, you can either have a first this year or an unknown first next year. And I'll say the first this year is in the 20s of the draft. I mean for fucks sake you should be able to get what Waddle got in a trade.

In the 20s? I dunno if I do that at all.

Would you trade Pickens for pick 13? I would not. Nor would I trade him to the Giants regardless of what they offered.

I would trade him for 6 straight up

That's the shit that irritates me. I watched a video earlier today where a reporter (I think Harris) was talking about taking a 2nd for Pickens.

It's like, did they not see the Waddle trade?

I still say if you're the Chiefs and you think you actually need a receiver for Mahomes to look elite again. Why the hell wouldn't you trade a first for Pickens? I guess money and all that. But if you have a great QB and need a legit #1 weapon, I'd trade for Pickens.

So you might be saying why would I be willing to trade Pickens? Because this cheap ass organization made it pretty clear they won't pay two high end WRs. Which means the clock is ticking and I'm not sacrificing a first round pick to have Pickens for one last year.

I just wouldn't take anything less than 2 high picks for him (meaning a first plus a second or third).

A) that's around what the Dolphins got for Waddle, and Pickens is better.

B) if we take one player for him, all that means is that we essentially have to use that resource to replace him. All things equal I would just rather have the known elite player than draft a guy who we hope is as good as Pickens.

2 players means I can replace Pickens plus add another good player.

They might be unofficially conceding 2026.

It’s basically a rebuilding year for them.

If they get a WR for big money, they can’t be wasted dollars which is what they will likely be in 2026

This is true but it also depends how high that first is. For example what the Giants got in pick 10 is worth more than a first and second round pick at the end of the first and second round. But I'm with you, it still is astonishing to me that a solid #2 WR could garner that (Waddle) and then experts talk like Pickens would only be worth a second round pick.
