Cowboys Trade for Joe Milton

The Rams found Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams, two important starters, in the 5th round. Just sayin'.

You can find a Kyren Williams in the fifth round of this draft.

Puka, probably not.

But I'd love to double dip on the Dline and at RB and that would be so much easier with the extra fifth round picks.

That was mostly coaching I think. The few times they tried to put a game in his hands he was dreadful.

It was our defense, McCarthy going with a conservative, pragmatic game plan and Rush managing the game while making a few plays here and there.

I think Milton can more or less do something similar if we have a defense playing as well as it was with Rush in 2022 and to a lesser extent, 2024.

More posts for this WGAS than the combined posts for retirements of all-franchise best, All Decade, future ROHer #70 and #77. Tsk tsk

Tyron was already out of sight out of mind when he went elsewhere. We have already lamented Martin.

The Random Cowboys thread gets most of the chatter.

Eh. If we're being honest, part of it is that the team wasn't successful in the 70/77 era. Ability wise they both deserve all the praise. But it's tough to look backwards when we know it was all futile in the end. It's easier to look forward, even concerning a WGAS backup QB. Plus linemen are tough to talk about in depth.

I suspect the retirements would look different if it was 8/88.

One can only wish they had been able to block more for Romo, but it was not meant to be thanks to gutless Garrett.

It is a bit sad we can’t get excited to celebrate great players because the franchise’s overall ineptitude clouds the picture. That era diminished the talent of Smith, Martin and others if we are being transparent.

Some great players have wasted their careers in Dallas because the people running the team for the last 30 years are missing chromosomes.
