Which is good because Downs hasn’t made a single play yet.
Does Howell have a TD pass?I'm not sure that's true. At the very least he had a fumble recovery.
Not worried about him between the ears, but more regarding his physical traits. They matter, and even a football brainiac like this kid has been will take time to adjust to the pro gameYou should chill about Downs, his value doesn't always show up with gaudy stats or splash plays, especially when there isn't any real running game going on.

Not really been his problem. He just likes to throw to the other team more.Uh... two clips of TD passes by Howell were posted on the last page.

A fumble recovery that falls into your lap isn't really "making" a play.

I can't help but feel that a player who doesn't make splash plays is not the best defender in the draft.
It's been 3 fucking practices. Jesus Christ.A fumble recovery that falls into your lap isn't really "making" a play.

In other words, he is like, the anti-Sam Howell. He wasn't the best defender in the draft, although I can guarantee you that the types of splash plays he does make aren't going to be readily noticeable in a training camp setting, particularly when all we're seeing are a bunch of 10 second social media clips from media types who only half know what they're looking at.
Usually when a player stands out consistently in these level of practices, the failure rate is pretty low. We may have got one here.
So we can excuse that, but be critical of a rookie in his third NFL practice ever, and not even in pads yet, for not making enough splash plays? He led the league in INTs 3 years ago in a season he was running for his life for a Washington team that allowed him to be sacked a league leading 65 times, the 5th highest total ever.
I think we can put a little bit of an asterisk on that one.
And all the reports that mentioned him have been pretty positive.
