There's no real reason to trade premium capital for a guy like Brooks. Overshown we know is good when on the field, Winters has plenty of starting experience and Barsham has shown up a bit early on at camp.

Crosby or Sweat I'd understand as a force multiplier off the edge, but ILB isn't impactful enough given what he currently have to send out premium picks.

If we're 6-3 and someone gets hurt or our guys actually suck somehow, sure, but it wouldn't be worth it right now.

Fair enough. Clearly a proven edge and an elite corner could make the leap similar to how our defense changed from 1991 to 1992 when we added Charles Haley and Kevin Smith. But we also added Robert Jones in the 1st in addition to Pup (different era though).

You should chill about Downs, his value doesn't always show up with gaudy stats or splash plays, especially when there isn't any real running game going on.
