2026 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread...

I want to stay away from children of former greats. They almost always bust.

When my son was about 15 and my daughter 7, I took them to a meet the Cowboys signing thing. It was after the second SB win.It was about 10 degrees out. Waited outside for 30 minutes to get in.Neither kid complained.Got inside and they had some former players like Too tall and Novacek. Got Enmity a autograph and next was Moose. I had a moose figure from my recent Canada trip which he laughed at and signed. Might be a collectors item someday. The kids had a ball.

I totally agree. There are just a lot of overreactions going on right now in my opinion. New scheme means players are going to take time to get efficient and good at it. So someone see's a poor PFF grade from Williams and now they are overreacting like there is something awful about the scheme. Or something is wrong with Williams. And no this isn't your grandpa's 3-4 where the 3 down lineman are playing read and react. But yes it is asking the D-lineman to do more than just shoot a gap and try to make a play.

I mean I was mostly just joking. I don't hold it against a player if their parent was a great NFL player but I don't really hold it in high esteem either. I don't think it's so much a physical talent thing. But I do think some of these kids whose parents were professional athletes just don't have that Dog mentality in them. Marvin Harrison Jr. is just sort of another example of that. I just don't know that he really has that mentality of doing whatever it takes to succeed that his father probably had.

Miles Austin played his high school ball in the town next door to me in NJ … same high school as Wayne Chrebet too

Funny story... Cowboys at Redskins 2013, my wife and I bring Mom back from church and I decide to force my poor mother into watching the game. She doesn't know anything about football, thinks I'm wasting my time following the Cowboys, going to Dallas, etc. So she's sitting there, quiet as a church mouse, I sensed her anger like I was Emperor Palpatine as the game went on... she doesn't say a word.

Anyway, Murray catches scores the tying TD and that punkass DeAngelo Hall among others starts a huge brawl in the endzone, flags start flying everywhere, and my mom taps me on the shoulder, I turn around and look at her and with this genuine look of concern on her face, she asks me, "does that mean it's not a touchdown?"

Oh man I had to hold in my laughter at her sudden concern for what happened on the field that I could barely get out, "Yes mom, it's still a touchdown". I think I would have died laughing if she'd asked me if it was a field goal or something, (which my wife calls "three-pointers" for some reason).
